Yeah this matchup is unwinnable against a competent player, speed advantage of tank means shield just can't defend enough places at once -> tank gets economic advantage and can kill shield using their method of choice.

I got absolutely demolished by early Thug + Felon in https://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/1038888 if you want an example of a Shield win. Tank definitely has a big advantage early game (more so than most factories against Shields) but Felon and Racketeer are very strong once you can afford them (but Air is very strong against those in return).

This map has chokepoints which makes defense a lot more manageable than on an open map, I don't know which side if favored on this map but it's certainly swingy :D
