I know that, but I'm asking for a strategy to employ once one has come into this position. It could also be caused by some other unlucky encounter or even an engine glitch. There has to be a way to fight back after this.

Riot com on flat maps.

You're up against scorcher and dagger rushes. Riot com near auto-wins against both. It may seem like it gives you a worse economy than recon or engineer, but you get to expand more aggressively which more than makes up for it.

When you're already behind, it's difficult. One way is to read their air-switch and counter it super hard. It's kind of all-in but it gives you a chance. When 10 banshees come tearing in and you've got the AA to deal with it prepared, that's a big swing, and GS-switches are pretty damn predictable finishers these days.

Another way is to commit super hard in one direction. If they're winning, they likely spread out to greed up all the map. By concentrating all your power in one place and smashing into their expansion, you can set up a scenario where you're both losing base but you were more prepared for it with BP for hoover recovery, and more statics costing the opponent back home.

#1: LLT is better in small numbers vs larger groups of things like daggers, especially when you are at a numbers disadvantage.

#2: You had radar(it saw the daggers) and walked out alone with your builder, away from your nice llt.

The correct thing to do would've been expanding with your comm while waiting in your base with your quill until you had numbers.

Around 5 min you were excessing, this would've been an OK time to commoprh and move out to expand with it. It was idle for quite a bit. Nanaoathe morph wouldve been ok, to quickly build llts as you expand making you immune to daggers. YOLO expand is the only path to victory.

There really is no way to win after getting so far behind(assuming your opponent knows how to not suicide everything).

This thread:
CHrankAdminDeinFreund: I went outside naked and got cold? Any tips for not being cold?
USrankaeonios: Bring a jacket.
AUrankSnuggleBass: Bring a flamethrower.
CHrankAdminDeinFreund: I dont have those things.
USrankFealthas: Too bad.

One thing I would work on however is unit preservation. You kinda kept throwing away daggers constantly, from the start of the game. Unless you can win its better to not fight.

0:14 - You built solar before mex. I this mex first is better.

0:32 - You saw a Dagger and your build queue gives you a defensive Dagger in the next 10 seconds. I would have made a Defender or pulled back a Dagger.

0:45 - Now you know you are against a Dagger rush, at least five opposing Daggers. This warrants a response beyond continuing to build Daggers. Perhaps a comm morph or turret.

0:51 - Make that six Daggers. Your Quill didn't have the time to finish its Radar.

1:15 - Daggers attack before your defenses are ready because you have chosen the worst allotment of resources. Two simultaneously built defenses, 5 spent on LLT and around 2.7 spent on a Defender. Neither are done. The LLT is quite poorly placed.

1:20 - Your Daggers and Defender should have died along with you taking some commander damage. EErankNorthChileanG delayed a few seconds and then retreated. This is still a decent move on his part.

1:30 - You send your constructor to expand outside LLT range. Commander is idle.

2:00 - Lost constructor as well as another mex due to poor LLT placement. Commander starts construction on the mex it was standing next to for the last 40 seconds.

2:05 - You should have lost your factory by EErankNorthChileanG using it as cover against your LLT. Regardless, you are too far behind at this point.

===========================================================

The early constructor is not a problem. The constructor may even have been too late, I would make one raider then a constructor instead of two. I think the first poor decision was at 0:13 when CHrankAdminDeinFreund made a Solar instead of a mex but that might be just me. The main issue was with decisions made after the rush is revealed.

At 0:40 you learn that there are at least four Daggers and your build has left you open to them. The Quill should place a Defender about 400 elmos directly North of your factory. With your factory on low priority the Quill can construct the Defender in 28 seconds. Your commander can also make a Defender right next to the mex it is about to complete. The mex finishes at 0:55 and and the commander can make a Defender in 14 seconds. Therefore both Defenders should be complete around 1:10 which about the time that the Daggers could reach you. Your commander should be able to jump to wherever needs defense because Daggers are pretty awful vs commanders. That is one response, maybe LLT is better. For a more defensive response you could place the Defenders just in and forwards of your two front mexes so they cover each other.

EErankNorthChileanG are you aware that you are using the double click fight widget?

I'm still cold but at least I now have the candle of hope.

to avoid most of these decisions at start (raider, turret, radar, con, morph) i simply morph to lvl 1 with beamlaser/radar. works most of the time and dies only if enemy comes with many raiders - which you can see with your integrated radar.

Meh, now you all have taken my only chance to beat DeinFreund :].

GoogleFrog, thanx for taking note, I know doubleclick widget is on there. I experimented with modding it.
