First real game of 2017!

Lots of strider action, lots of superweapons, lotta fun (and exhaustion).

Best game I've played so far. Truly epic.

And what a finale!

lagfest. despite having new laptop. and again windows dualboot for better GPU drivers.

Game engine has problems. I have a pc that runs skyrim ultra HD with tons of graphics mods. I never get less than 50-60 FPS. Guess what... here I find myself even with 10 fps at ultra...don't know how.

Drawing running async to simulation should really be a thing.

BTW, this map is a pathing nightmare. And water is passable, at least in some areas, but is acidic. My spiders kept repairing each other while receiving damage there.

Why do you compare this with Skyrim? There is barely anything going on at any given moment in Skyrim.

I am afraid that you are wrong badly here AUrankAdminGoogleFrog. Even tested it with multiple npcs (between 100-200) at the same time and it worked without freezing or stuff.

I'm not an expert but I suspect Forever still doesn't understand what "barely anything" means in comparison with a game of ZK.

How 2 compare the two?

First video:

"15-20 fps at max settings"

Thanks for disproving your own point, ROrankForever

he might wanted to say that the performance was better once. And it is true.

There are some lags sometimes too.I am not sure but it could be that it is again when user leaves / resigns

He might have said that, but did not. To you, DErankChesti, I say:

Those are not my videos in case no1 noticed, I was just trying to prove a point where you can run 1000 units without lag while zero-k with 300 units gets unplayable even if you have strong pc, but of course try and find my grammar mistakes in order to excuse zero-k's engine problems .

A short reminder: I am not trying to blame you guys for what's going on I was just trying to understand why it's happening like this and why zero-k is getting worse in performance.

I remember my superspeedmetal games back in the old days ( 2 years ago ) where I could easily spam tons of units on the map without any lag and that on my wooden pc. The only lag I had were from terraform discovery lag spike . Everything else was ok.

300 units is not unplayable with a strong PC. You need to run the benchmarker if you have low framerate with 300 units.

Can you explain to me how I do that benchmark thing in zero-k ?

- The video was still stuttery.
- He never had more than 100-200 units actually doing something at the same time. You could clearly see that everyone behind the frontline did nothing, and many units in combat actually idled, too.

I'm sure ZK would have no problem running smoothly (which apprently means 10 fps) with 1000 units if you're fine with 80% of them not reacting to commands. Note how this further the point AUrankAdminGoogleFrog makes.

And no, 250 archers standing and turning is not "a lot going on", either.
