Can images be embedded into missions, to display on screen when an event is triggered or completed?

I would love to make turotial missions with gif showing the mouse movement for a line formation, gifs showing the keys on the keyboard to press to use a krow's D-gun, gifs showing the hotkey combo order of button to use split attack, etc...
[Spoiler]
If i can't I guess i'll have to make a map that has the instructions written into the ground, and the map will just teleport the comm from locatino to location as each tutorial action is completed.

Yes you can include anything. Just copy image to mission folder and then use it in some widget/tool i think there is alreayd some to display images. Consult KR for more info :)

Last I heard there is no support for animated images in Spring; you may have to write your own slideshow widget.

Animated? Oh he means animated gif... hmm .. spring has access to codesc through the video recording maybe it can access codec to play gifs. If not player can either be written in lua (to get actual images from gif) - but it might be too slow, added to spring itself or played outside game..

Another option would be to convert gif to series of png and play those manually in lua. Converter is easy to make but it might be too big/need low fps to be viable.
