Idea for geo explosion

Currently geo explosions look just like fusion explosions, with moho being a larger version. While that's kind of cool it doesn't really make sense, and the fact that geos and fusions explode the same way is boring.

So I came up with an idea; geos and mohos get smaller shock explosions, and instead shoot a fountain of kodachi-like fireballs of various sizes randomly over a larger area. That way geos would have a more volcano-like effect and could set random things on fire instead of just instakilling whatever happens to be immediatley adjacent. Mohos would just be a more spectacular version of that.

Note that damage should be high enough for it to be actually destructive rather than just annoying, and mohos should still seriously wreck stuff when killed.

It's likely more a case of getting someone to do the legwork.

It would consitute a balance change if moho-geo no longer obliterated its surroundings. The random bits of fire are random, and so you could have all-in air strikes potentially do far less damage than anticipated. Not overly important, but something to consider.

Using glowing cracked long-lasting groundflashes would be a good start. Do you know how to make 2d textures?

I wasn't thinking of anything quite that fancy. Just a burst of light that scatters around some fireballs, not like an uber-complex fireworks display (and if it was it'd be all physics). Art isn't my strong suit anyway.

Singu implosion doesn't eat as much base as the old explosion did, either.

Glowing groundflash is much easier to implement than throwing DoT projectiles all over the place. It is less fancy.

Anarchid is nothing if not not fancy.

We're getting closer and closer to literal neonstorms.

Ion Storms are not copyrights of "Command & Conquer : Tiberian Sun".
I like the idea of flying units getting grounded by a static or moving gfx 'storm' on a map.

I think Geo death should explode like normal but spawn napalm in a large radius, while Moho Geo should terraform the land around it into a volcano-esque shape.

Neon.

quote:
colorless gas exhibiting an orange-red glow

You know what else is orange-ish? Two things are:
- fire
- disarm

You know what unleashes a storm of those things?
- Firewalker
- Inferno
- Phoenix
- Thunderbird

Thunderbird's description says it unleashes a lightning storm but lightning, in ZK, is something that does real and EMP damage and has white-blue color. Thunderbird's weapon is yellow and it does neither EMP nor damage.

The course is clear, gentlemen. Thunderbird's description must change from "lightning storm" to "neonstorm".

EErankAdminAnarchid - I was thinking that the other day - most disarm damage is dealt by rockets. It would be fun if the convention that all rocket-based disablers deal disarm, then it would be very obvious what deals what - purple energy is slow, lighning or blue explosions are stun, and white sparkly rockets are disarm. The EMP missile could be switched to disarm (you're mostly shooting it at immobile targets anyways so that means no real change)

But changing the Thunderbird to fire white sparkly rockets/bomblets would be kinda boring compared to its awesome lightning-storm.
