Can claymore get less AOE? It is kinda catastrophic when u pull subs back they cluster for some seconds... if claymore hits you can loose 6 - 10 subs.
Less AOE would fix it I think

just claymore. Thanks!

Should it itself be immune to own projectile, like for instance levelers are?
Right now it's the most shortliving and expensive sea riot.

It's a crawling bomb that sometimes, randomly, lives.

It's not a good design IMO, should be a standard riot along the lines of Leveler.

Why not make the depth charge non-tracking / burnblow / times out sooner in addition to the immunity to it's own projectile?

Currently I don't think it can miss once it's fired.

And if its target dies, it moves erratically without hitting anyone else.

I don't know what to do with Claymore but at the moment it is a joke. That being said, it is a lethal joke.

EDIT: warning - neonstorm follows!

Remote detonation of depth charges using "D-gun". Depth charges expire after X amount of time. (For example, X = 10 seconds, for temporary area denial.)

Might make it usable on land, even. I think the idea is OK but the mechanical implementation is so gimmicky it might not be worth. Throwing in some status toggles for automatic detonation makes it kind of usable?

...I'm not sure I follow your point. The depth charge is the Claymore's weapon, correct?

(and believe me I haven't thought for a moment about whether delayed detonation is remotely balanced)

It's usable on land. Lay an egg bomb and run away. As a correction to my previous post. Can it get an armored form for some time after shot as an alternative to being immune to own shots?

So you would make Claymore fire sticky bombs?

Pretty much, yes. The idea appeals to me but I'm not sure it will actually work.

A sticky bomb is entirely possible but sounds mechanically difficult to use and respond to.

Yes, I agree with that sentiment. The only way I can see it being workable is with a reasonably clever default behaviour, which still leaves the problem of responding to it meaningfully.

Maybe lower aoe of claymore but make faster attack? It can be devastating unit and not only for enemy but also for allied units.
Or maybe added bit larger range and less aoe.
Problem imo isn't even that it kills subs with its large aoe, problem is that its suicide unit and who mostly didn't make cost.

I like the idea of mine-layer Claymore. Aka Wolverine but short range and with bigger alpha and AoE. We don't have sea mine-layer yet.

An idea: depth charge explode when the claymore leaves the explosion radius. Not sure if conditional detonation is possible in Spring though, perhaps it's easier if we make depth charge into a unit like Claw.

The Urchin Limpet was meant to be a sticky bomb, sticking to ships in water, slowing and damaging them over time. Since torpedoes pass through allies, removing them wouldn't be a problem.

On the Claymore, just having stats appropriating a leveler would frankly be enough. It doesn't need this gimmicky self-exploding thing. But yeah, it was also originally designed as a mine-layer unit on land (Or, that's what I made that model for), and having some secondary utility on land that way would be good IMO.

AUrankAdminSaktoth I think you mean Limpet. Also I "made" the Claymore model.

Did you? That's right mine had the big drum in the middle didn't it? The claymore uses the one with the funny angular arms.

Mine is still in there as 'hoverminer'. There is 'hovershotgun' too.
