... Surprise!

This is the same style ZKL always used, you could toggle it on/off with a blue button in the upper right. The button was removed and this style made default. CZrankAdminLicho thought people would prefer it. I am sure that this change is by no means to be considered final.

For anyone wondering, this change included an incomplete(!) wiki feature. That was an accident and not intended to go live just yet. Both these things are part of a large number of patches that were all forwarded from test.zero-k.info to zero-k.info in one big push.

My suggestion was and still remains that people should have personal profile settings, which would include toggles for showing own elo and rating changes in battles, winner/loser hiding for games where the player did not participate, and preferred site style.

Log off: boom you get the proper layout.

Here is Lichos' explanation why as we log in need to endure this while the people who are not logged in doesn't.

Congratulations you just gave people (me included) an incentive to be always logged off and maybe even stop posting on this forum altogether.

Came here to say I always used this layout and I think it's significantly better.

The only problem I see is that lines can be very long. I once read somewhere that text with long lines can be hard to read. I'm not sure if this still applies if people use linebreaks to create paragraphs every now and then though - four long lines could be just as easy or hard to read as 20 short lines.

Oh, there's also the buggy tooltip for "DONATE" that's displayed outside the nav bar. I've been thinking about how to fix it for the whole week now. It's the only thing stopping me from commiting my current nav bar changes. :(

So are we eternally first time visitors? Or why can we not switch back?

Simple! ZK has consumed your soul already, so you will never ever ever left it.

I read it as newbies should get the pretty fixed width site to make a good first impression, while we vets can endure the extra wide version, because we're already invested and won't leave over it.

Extremely long lines hurt readability a lot for me, and there are a few other problems GBrank[Fx]Drone mentioned.

This new update fucks with reading the upvote/downvote bit for me.
Please bring back old Upvote/downvote thing.

I like the fullwidth website, but the comment threads look atrocious on mobile.

Also, the new comment listing is... new.

It's not that the upvote/downvote popup is missing, it's that its style (or ui logic) is somehow changed in a way that no longer prevent it from being shown offscreen.

We definitely have the technology to fix that.

I think the second image looks much better. Resize this rectangle or just remove it.
