5GB for 11minute video is insane.
use some compression, not raw video. easiest is windows movie maker, drag file into it and export.

I will just upload my 1080p video with 24mbs bitrate because what even is post processing.

If you are too lazy to do post processing then some programs like OBS and dxtory allow scaling down the resulution. This could be used to scale down the resolution from 1080p to 720p significantly reducing the size of the video.

Seriously look up this shit. Its all over youtube.

Nice job. Your coverage was a little patchy but you covered the important events and I'm sure you'll improve. My advice is to make a lot of casts just to get some practice.

One thing though, your settings seem to be extremely low. Do you have any way to raise them? I don't think you need amazing graphics (although it helps) but you had some pretty jarring things going on. Your terrain detail looks quite low, it was especially noticeable with the Skydusts in the Red Comet cast. Also your max particles and concurrent sounds settings are so low that I notice a big lack of particles and the occasional missed sound.

Currently working on fixing this, I'm trying to convince parents to get me a better video card and internet connection

Trying to upload/stream with 1mb is pretty much impossible.

Okay, this is a bit of a standard list I tell anyone who starts casting, because in terms of voice and coverage you did fine. Definitely some practice will help, but it's a good start.

1. Use Spectator Panels, not the normal Economy Panel. There's an option in the Economy Panel to hide it when spectating and during replays.

2. Use Outlines (there's a low-quality mode for lower-end GPUs). This isn't a matter of personal taste, but of video compression. With outlines it's a lot easier for the compression algorithms to differentiate the different objects, which should cause it to keep the units more detailed. At the very least it provides a clear silhouette for the audience.

3. You are a bit too quiet, though it got better later on in the video. I don't know what your settings are, so I don't know if you need to increase the mic gain, add mic boost, or just increase the mic input volume in OBS.

4. Turn on "Capture Mouse Cursor" in the Game Capture source options in OBS.

5. Don't zoom in and out so much, pan more often. Zooming that much is disorienting, and tends to really tax the video compression. (Yes I know I zoom a fair bit too, it's a tough habit to modify for casting)

6. Turn on the music, it helps mask the spaces between sentences, and everything sounds really barren without it.

7. Try to avoid "um", "uh", etc. It's not the biggest deal, but it helps a bit.

8. For the replay controls, I have a hotkey for pause, and when I load a replay, I immediately hit "Skip Pregame Chatter", then pause, then grab the replay control panel by a corner and jam it as far offscreen as it will go, then hit the pause hotkey to start the game. Note that you don't need to be in Tweak mode (Ctrl+F11) to move the replay controls.

9. Factory Panels with "show ally factories" will show factories, in case you don't want to mention them all. Your call on that one.

Btw how do I use the spectator panels?
I activated the widget but it doesn't show up as a part of UI.

Spectator panels only show up if you are in a replay or spectating, and now that you mention it they might not show up by default, so check Settings/HUD Panels/Extras/Spectating/Enable as Spectator.

Why that's off by default is beyond me, those panels should be on by default and the economy panel should by default hide for spectators.

Spec panels do not handle FFA.

Where? How do I enable this?

Actually I'd like to see zoom frequency to be between CArankAdminShadowfury333 and RUrankParzival. Imo zooming is a powerful and valuable tool when used right. Just make it clear for players where on the map you are zooming in to and don't spam it.

Cut out the loadscreen GUI tweaking. Or just restart recording if you notice that you need to adjust settings. No need to make viewers sit through that.

sounds somewhat awkward.

You can also just disable the replay control menu and use /skip 0 or /skip 1 or such to jump to the first actual game frame.

Skasi: search for "Low Quality Outlines" (I think it is Settings/Graphics/Unit Visibility/Outlines/Low Quality Outlines, but I'm not fully sure off-hand). As for zooming, I guess I'm not doing as many overviews as I used to. I'll keep that in mind. It also occurs to me that another difference is that my zooming is smooth, which helps with the issues I mentioned above. Anyone casting should either use COFC or the SmoothCamera widget if they are using the TA camera, and the smoothness setting should be near the middle of the bar.

DErank[2up]knorke: it is a bit awkward, but it works alright. I'm not really sure what would work better, except maybe an option to make skipping to first frame automatically pause.

Oh apparently that requires Advanced settings and for some reason I had those turned off. Thanks!
