I only just found out how to color posts. I'm not trolling, I just like the colors. This is a way to clear up the confusion. I will update wiki

All of the special damage rewards have a minimum requirement, ie you have to do at least a certain amount of damage, as well as more of that damage than anyone else. In short, it's because you sucked and didn't do any damage and just trivially building a few units that can emp didn't cut it.

My eyes refuse to read that text. Deep blue on dark, muddy green simply doesn't work, please try something else.

That is a pissoff, especially when I end up killing the most.
What is the bare minimum damage? Seriously, it seems to be a lot higher than 5000. At which point the trollcom will win anytime.
Now that is just stupid, it says it uses "metal value" and then EMP uses Damage, which is either pretty high, and can't be achieved by rampaging through enemy infastructure, or lots of EMP damage.

Are those hedgehogs?

Btw, "excessive terraforming" is only metal spent into terraforming an object, no damage at all?

Yes go see my battle on "Drab", dude was trollcom. I'm amazed. Yes I did use spider fac. Yes I used Redback. No, I did not spam hermit
(Got award in vs CAI, needs to be over 8000 I believe)

I'm not sure whether the EMP award is for damage inflicted or value of units stunned.

I believe the EMP award is granted if you inflict EMP damage above a certain threshold, which is dependent on the total damage inflicted by you, your team or all players (I am not sure which). I think that some of the code which controls it is here, for what that's worth.

Allyteams don't win awards, so in normal team games only the damage your own units do count towards any awards, and you compete with every other player for them.

If you're using 'singu-mode' or whatever it probably breaks in some way, since awards weren't really designed with team merging in mind.

Also, those are obviously neon hedgehogs.

empFactor = veryEasyFactor*4 I can't find another piece in the code which says "venom=1,zeus=1,stun unit=1" there should be something like that around the code.
I'm sure that the more you use the ones with points (Kamikaze selfdestruct units are 1), the higher the amount of selfdestruct, the higher your "score" and the better. From what I see, if I explode 20blastwings, I will get the award rather than the guy who detonated 15 roaches.
Amazingly, it doesn't say anything about that in the code for EMP.

i offer an indepth explanation but only if the forum colors stop

Why? Don't you like colors?
Colorz are AMaEiZING!
But I fully approve that this is becoming unreadable and should stop.
Please if you are about to update wiki, do it with less COLORZ!!

You should seriously consider using less colors,
if you want people to be treating you seriously.

Also in the dark, it's difficult to read and hurts my eyes.
PS: NOW WITH EXTRA MORE COLORS!!!

Reddit, I've looked at code as well, apparently you need >3000 EMP damage in metal to get the award. E.g stunning a Grizzly with and infiltrator will give 2000 Metal.

Wrong, read again. The eligibility threshold is dynamic and depends on the average damage done in metal by other players.

The Grizzly example is correct in spirit [Spoiler]

That really is still confusing. But now I understand it, but what if 2 people have same damage? Will it be PRNG, or is it given to both?

My understaning is that if you inflict more EMP damage (in terms of the metal value of the units which you stunned) than 120% of the average of the (HP-reducing, I assume) damage inflicted by other players, you will receive the EMP award.

I think a draw is exceptionally unlikely.

If I continue to stun a unit repeatedly (say, a grizzly with infiltrators, will I only get the metal from the initial attack (3500 metal), or will it add up as I keep stunlocking the enemy?

It stacks, just like units keep gaining experience if they attack a unit that's being repaired. Why do you even care? EMP award is one of those you can only get with certain facs and is basically meaningless.
