How do we counter this rather dangerous combination?

Terrain:
Hilly
Flat

Write down the factory which your counters are in.
Then write down how you use those units to counter this
Mine is:
LV fac:
Wolverine+Scorcher.
Wolverines will bring down warrior and rockos, potentially able to kill Spectre, but once Warrior is gone, Scorcher can destroy combo.

Works on flatground

For this combo to pose a significant threat to you army
quote:
Write down the factory which your counters are in.

At the point where the enemy has enough Rockos, Warriors and Snipers that need to be countered you either:
1. Already lost anyway;
2. Or can afford a dedicated factory switch.

In which case I would recommend a Dante. I guess that carefuly managed Firewalker would also do well. Wolverines could somewhat work but at this stage of the game are easily counterable. Reapers would tear them appart on flat grounds. Ravagers too but that kind of depends on the number of enemies.

Schorchers are definetely not the way to deal with this combo. Unless you use them after you dispose of Warriors or try to find some opening in the enemy lines.

Are you sure Dante? Spectre is an anti-heavy, and can be made pretty easily.

its all because of that crazy d gun of the dante that has huge range and area of effect. Wouldnt say its a sure counter at all though

I only assume it is one or maybe two snipers at most. Two snipers will take a long time killing a Dante and even then it is still risky since like NOrankKingstad said decloak the Snipers. But then again if the enemy has say 18 Rockos, 8 Warriors and 2 Spectres while you can only afford a Dante you propably lost the game anyway. Mind you that you also require actual units before you roll our Dante as well.

Skirmishers in general would do well against this combination since even if Spectre takes some potshots at you it wont be making incredible cost, Warriors are slow and easy to hit and imo Rockos are still kind of crap to begin with.

I think dante is a counter to anything but 6+ spectres (4500 worth, plus the energy to fund them).

But Dante is a big clumsy dumb unit that loses games with its tardiness. I would prefer to not have to switch to strider to deal with a 750 unit.

I've not yet tried it, but I'm thinking that eraser will allow you to negate all spectre targetting, and then you should be able to just walk all your cloaked warriors or whatever into their rock/warrior blob and kill it. Follow up with glaives to secure kills on spectre.

Alternatively, thunderbird + glaive ball should work.

The more general answer is to apply more pressure somewhere else, to bait shots with patrolled scouts or nanoframes, or to target their energy production.

U mad? Depending on a map, Dante can easly kill enough snipers for cost (if map forces u to keep them close), or two od three if map is wider. Also try cloaked roaches. Cloaced roaches always work.

Frankly dont think warriors are neccesarily all that amazing vs ducks as with a bit of micro ducks can drop of their missiles and immediately run outside of warrior range. So duck imo have a tradeoff where as raiders they are better vs riot than others but worse vs skirmishers since they are so slow, but still.
