You played fine and killed a disproportionate number of Scythes, unfortunately your team mostly abandoned you to fight off three enemy teams by yourself.

Let's face it, you knew Archetherial was on the other side which means guaranteed scythes and your strategy was a high risk one with particular vulnerability to them. That's absolutely fine and I'm not criticising the choice of strategy (you're quite experienced enough to take a high but calculated risk) but it was also incumbent on you to communicate with the rest of us. At the very least, instructing Laserzwei to closely support you could have given you extra support on the ground. I think he went jump, so puppies or pyros could both have followed you up and puppies in particular might have made the scythes less menacing.

I'd swapped to air literally at the last second (and didn't announce as I normally do, a failing on my part), but if you'd instructed me on what sort of air support would most help you (napalm? TB?), I'd have built it and done my best to give you leverage. I could see the game would turn on whether you could win your battle.

This wasn't death by scythe, it was death by poor communication.
