I watched this replay assuming Sparkles had won. Now I am confused by NLrankWesley's comment.

Thats some early Dominatrices dominating.

Wesley likes being sarcastic. Also Sparkles recently claimed tanks are OP now.

You stand corrected - not OP, but far far more viable and deadly. Like I explained, the boost in resources facilitates tanks getting upto a powerful position a lot more reliably.

I'm not good at tanks, but having recognized this window for them opening, I'm starting to learn through trial and error. Some wins, some losses. Before this update I would not have picked them more than 5% of the time.

A larger map like this might not be best vs rovers as seen in this game. A smaller map where you can close the distance early and put on raiding pressure makes more sense. The reason that is so critical is because you want to do everything you can to slow down the inevitable plane switch and get your heavies into their face. Unless you're ahead, rovers are going to win the air phase. I don't care about "ogre counters ravens", I care about fast response and the ability to shut down thunderbirds.

Red comet and titanduel are good examples of maps that are seeing the switch to tanks happen.
