This is a place where I plan to post some (presumably) nice screenshots, that I've captured while spectating Zero-K battles. Feel free to use them for all your Zero-K needs - be it media section (if deemed worthy), encouraging friends, or else.

Lets start with Monsieur Dante:

Where are the unit icons? Is this what units look like?

You managed to capture the sheer struggle that was the aurelian game. I'll be having night tremors about that one. Good shots.

i, for one, have almost always icon-distance set to 0 in real-life. why should zero-k be any different?

Messing around a bit with a random replay and DoF.

That makes them look like small toys Shadowfury333 :P

Those DoF screens are looking good, especially where very close and very far away object is blurred; not so much when only vignette is (I guess I am not a fan of vignette blur - it looks forced).

Might be very nice for 3rd person screens. Not sure about our usual gameplay birdview - most things are at around same distance, then...

Not sure what you mean by vignette blur, I'm guessing you are referring to the way the Scythe image looks. That is the same effect, but I can see how the staging makes it look like a blur getting stronger from center.

Also, the DoF shader autofocus code is tuned to avoid getting in the way, so it will only really show up when zoomed in close, or when there is a large distance gap, such as when tilting the camera a lot.

That sounds awesome!

And no, scythe screen looks perfectly fine. I was, specifically, thinking about the 1st screen, where thinks outside oval area at center of screen seems to blur, no matter of distance difference or not. But, it might be just coincidence, or me being pesky ;)

I can't wait for testing using it for screens! If it really kind of "activates" mostly in tiled camera situation, thats great, otherwise, I can have enabling/disabling bound to a button for screenshooting needs.

Oh, okay. That screen also uses the same effect, I just happened to find a position where the windgen and hill (which are quite a ways away from the commander) are out of focus, and the commander is between two of the spokes. I'm not sure I see what you mean by vignetting in that image, since while yeah, the trees beyond the commander are out of focus, the solars are in focus.

Anyway, at the moment the enable/disable option isn't hotkeyable, but that's an easy change if it's obstructive. I'd rather have it just on all the time and only really show up for areas a ways down a hill when zoomed in fairly close, and I've tuned it to that, but maybe my standards are a bit less strict than most for what counts as "obstructive".

Obstructive it is probably not, but the hotkey-bindability is a good standard (present for basically every effect, including x-ray spotters, night vision, to whole GUI itself) - also helps to quickly test performance impact in situations where you're getting low FPS and want to "debug" what causes it. So, my thumbup for bindability, definitely.

Also, awesome work!

Fair enough. I've made a PR to make the DoF effect and the High Quality setting bindable.
