true, but it does need the damage, perhaps lower the aoe on it slightly and speed

Scalpel monospam is not that likely in a Hover mirro, because, unlike with Maces, Halberds and Daggers actually can do something against these.

Higher alpha will make it even worse at fighting Dagger and Halberd.

Meanwhile, current Mace:
- Defeats Dagger
- Defeats Scalpel
- Defeats Halberd
- Equal with Mace
- Defeats Raven in 1v1 (that is, where you have one mace per raven)

Scalpel still doesn't outrun Maces even though it is supposed too be hit and run.

Increasing Scalpel damage to 650 would be pretty good change as it barely affects any other match ups other than Scalpel versus Mace when it comes to fixed number of Scalpel attacks required to kill enemy target.

Units within scalpel attack range change:
  • 1 salvo, 622-650 damage: Mistral, Vandal
  • 2 salvo, 1244-1300: Mace, Halbert, FireWalker
  • 3 salvo, 1866-1950: Zephyr
  • 4 salvo, 2488-2600:no changes
  • 5 salvo, 3110-3250: no changes
  • 6 salvo, 3732-3900: Siren
.... and so on overrall having minimal differences or maybe making some small differences in number of required salvos against really high hp units such as Striders. The effect against Ships is somewhat noticeable though, as it would mean mistral and Scalpel have both ability to one hit each other while mistral has more range but scalpel is more accurate.

Is 660 damage the same? I like to avoid exact sums because nonsense can occur that leaves units with 0.1 health.

Units within scalpel attack range change with 660 salvo damage:
  • 1 salvo, 622-660 damage: Mistral, Vandal, Recluse (for some reason I had missed Recluse previously)
  • 2 salvo, 1244-1320: Mace, Halbert, FireWalker
  • 3 salvo, 1866-1980: Zephyr
  • 4 salvo, 2488-2640: no changes
  • 5 salvo, 3110-3300: Artemis (this also belonged to the previous actually)
  • 6 salvo, 3732-3960: Siren, Cerberus (Cerberus also belonged to previous list)
  • 7 salvo, 4354-4620: no changes
  • 8 salvo, 4976-5280: Halbert in armored form, Trinity
  • 9 salvo, 5598-5940: no changes

The list was effectively the same, but I realized I had missed some units such as Recuse from previous list. Though I would at least consider the recluse change a net positive and the Artemis and Cerberus scenarios are rather rare match ups for Scalpel anyway.
