This is probably a joke.
This player (Hellaciouss) was unknown (for me) until yesterday.
However, I did not notice him.
And only when he treated me with a kick-Vote I responded.

Action reaction.

And now I have the ass card and he goes out empty.

This is not a valid channel to file reports.

I am growing annoyed by this constant "he did this, he did that, he started it" on the forums.

No, you're not supposed to go for insults even in retaliation, really.

So you are now advocating immediately closing all threads such as these?

As far as i understand, the previous times these kinds of topics were summarily closed, people complained about admins silencing free speech etc.

It's worth knowing that sentiment has changed.

Because someone reported Xivender for name-calling, and noone reported @Hellacious for the kick vote (until now, anyway).

I am not going to close any of these threads right now.

But i'm going to discuss the policy of closing them on sight in the future.

I indicated in the previous thread that the kick votes which you and Hellaciouss started against each other were unwarranted. I made a judgement call that a formal warning for either was not necessary. If either of you makes it a habit in the future, moderator action will follow.

I considered locking http://zero-k.info/Forum/Thread/28122 but chose not to since in that situation it seemed OK to allow the participants to talk themselves out. http://zero-k.info/Forum/Thread/28280 was different in that upon reviewing the game I found it far more necessary to spec-mute the player who created the thread than to do anything about the subject of the thread.

Calling somebody else an idiot or other such insults has never been appropriate. There is no inherent bias against "old timers". It is unfortunately true that several established players have a pattern of inappropriate and abusive behaviour.

What prejudice? There are certainly newer players who act inappropriately and abusively as well.

I will say that the attitude and actions of several players, new and old, has been making the Zero-K community a less fun place to be for the general public as of late.

Nobody involved in these situations is coming out of them looking good. If you think you are, you are wrong.

The moderators do not care whether you think your action is justified retaliation. Everybody is strongly advised to act accordingly.
