Weapons that fire forwards only

I thought of interesting concepts for raiders, and I was wondering. Can't we make a cheap raider with high damage that can simply run in and keep moving, like a ravager, but cheap like a dart, with ranged damage high enough to bypass lone riot units with high masses? For it's damage, it should be cheap, but it sacrifices cost for mobility. It should still be fast enough to scavenge fields with ease, like kodachis and glaives, but not mobile enough to escape direct raider assaults, like a scorpion wouldn't. I think the best unit for this experimental feature would be the Dagger, as I love the idea of a bunch of deadly daggers flying across the battlefield with a single gauss shot in front of them, and that should make them quite balanced, and/or fun, even if for a while. The second unit that could use such an upgrade is, scorcherer, but to make them more mobile.
In a few words, the design of the raider is a quick projectile-like unit, with burst damage summed up to be high enough to pick off lone units who have been caught wandering through the night. Only dedication can stop their onslaught.

Try modding it in and experimenting with it. I think all you'll need for a basic implementation is to add the weapon arc parameters to a unitdef. See how Jugglenaut or Stardust runs fire angle restrictions. I would worry that the raiders would be too annoying to control, but we won't know unless it is tried.

Another worry is that this could makes engagements very swingy. If you can only fire forwards then retreating means you just die without doing any damage so you kinda always want to go all-in. It can still work but takes a lot of care to design and balance this so.
