I require each plant to have a unit IMP. Dumb balance of typing. How I hate this balance.

Prove to me that it was not the IMP, and not this unit, that won this match. I was pinned at the base and held on to it. Any of my attacks have a high chance of hitting an IMP, after so I lose my army. Randy raided me in the side, wiping out my entire economy, AND I CAN'T ANSWER DO THE MIRROR ALSO!!!! Because a damn minefield will stop me. Why can my opponent do the trick and I can't? On what fucking basis. Explain?!


Why is there a type of mine units, but there is no type of units against mines ?! What the fuck? Where is the anti-mine unit type?!

In practice, an attack on these regions leads to defeat. I cannot attack them. Randy took me into a ring from which one cannot get out.



Let me remind you that Randy has lost his commander! The enemy takes me in the ring, with the lost commander at the beginning of the game. Randy did a daring raid that caused me to kill his commander, and now he's fucking me in a ring.




The key point is here. Randy is raiding my entire south. I can't stop this raid, but if I had an IMP, I could. Mirror, I can hit with my commander and 3k army in the top center, getting the top center, BUT I CAN'T DO IT! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! I just get into the IMP, llt and displacement of the army in 1k from above will kill my commander in the whole 3k army. The most offensive thing is that I was still confused in the decision whether to attack or not and because of this I made a mistake in macro and micro, having lost the commander.



Obviously, there would be no IMP, the raid would take the upper center, center and break all the artillery in the mid lane. But a dull balance does not allow me to do this.

This was the key moment of the whole game.

I love this. Superb.

Imp, Snitch - majorly disproportionate reward if you get it right. On chokepointed maps, it is very easy to get right too. I feel your pain.

Yet one more reason for more generic defense options (see de-cloaker) to be added to the game, or for these units to be evaluated.

What are your thoughts on the limpet? It won't completely win a game for the side that gets a good explosion (of course, its also not cloaked).

Ultimatum can also have a disproportinate reward if you get it right. Why not just send a few lone raiders to trigger or eliminate those hidden imps in these regions? And only after that send the army.

Ya that is probably the best thing, but there is also tremor if you're tanks, fleas if your spiders, darts if you're rovers, maybe merlin?, and there is firewalker if you are Jumpbots, and there are probably more.

Izirayd is playing tanks. The cost in micro time is enough of a burden, but the cost in metal is still too high.

Imp deals only 2.5k emp damage. That means that it affects only kodachis, blitzes and ogres. Maybe using minotaur with some blitz support could do the job?

Tanks do have that issue, but the screenshots above show rovers vs cloak. Different game?

Rover can send darts ahead of large groups pretty cheaply, and use Wolverines to bombard locations before moving through them. if you suspect imps, you either need to screen or avoid clumping.

I guess with a widget you could have riot tanks fire ahead of them as they move to clear mines also.

Tanks are just fucked though, they have no useful tools for sweeping cloaked mines until they reach critical mass of Reaper/Goli and can drive through

High risk/swingy units like bombs are good for gameplay. They allow skilled playrs to fight unskilled players efficently, which is a good thing in my book. But every fac should have a counter to them.

What about Tremor? I guess maybe it wouldn't work so well since imps are so small, but also Silent_AI has a good point.
