What's the challenge specifically? Just beating 3 brutals without terraform or defences? Or is there also a restricted unit list?

Just tried this with modern brutal and it looks like current brutal AI is just broken... All the combat units just sit in base and twiddle their thumbs.

EDIT: Though it looks like Legacy AI is still available and ISN'T broken.

EDIT2: Turns out I'm using an old version of the AI.

The CCR Macro Challenge is an older challenge that tests your macro skills in a general sense. You on CCR vs 3 AI(CAI at the time, now LegacyAI/CAI) where you only get rover. The hardest incarnation is only rover fac mason dart scorcher ripper ravager crasher mexes solars storage caretaker. With this limited unit variety you need to be able to manage the random stream of ai units comming in your general direction as well as constantly ramp up your expansion/economy/production.

Congratulations on the win! You adhered to the rules very well, and won through successfully poking all the enemy's fronts/backs with scorchers. There's still more to learn. You get a C on economy, because while it was sufficient, having more than 1 con and 1 com out on the map taking territory is very important on heavy mex maps like CCR. For future training try to take your hands off the front and as quickly and efficiently as possible manage your economy by inserting extra cons into the build queue as needed, applying more cons to mexes and energy and caretakers as needed. In the name of overdrive, you can queue solars branching between your mexes when building more energy so as your energy production increases you also build a grid with many mexes.(or be creative with how you will overdrive your mexes) When you have more than 35 m/s a fusion on high priority with a con and 3 caretakers will shut down your factory for less than 30 seconds, and fusions are more metal efficient than solars by a small bit.

On CCR it's very common to see 6-8 energy converting to 6 or 7 m/s with a sufficiently diffused grid. that's the insane return rates of a miniscule overdrive investment, and on a map like CCR where you can mine over 80m/s from mexes alone the cost of 4 solars is incredibly tiny.
A singu might yield you an aditional 25-45m/s as well, with a well connected grid(for comparison's sake)
