I miss the ability to slow units down. I used to have really great tactics mixing them in. loved using them against gunships,stiders,troll coms (d gun com :D) and even to drain shields.

I prefer the old one with it long range. At least you could kite with micro. The new ones range isn't so great and the risk of it dying is much greater.

new moderators are pretty bad at slowing units, the suckers just die and then there's noone left to slow

They got high damage but I haven't really found a practical use for them. I found using black hole unit with melee jack is quite a good tactic. Stick the unit in place and then send in melee jack. Retreat. Heal up. Repeat.

Also the black hole unit is so funny. I watch it make a sumo spin upside down.

The problem is the low RoF. Whats the masimum amount of slow a unit can have? 50%? 33?

When moderator hits a unit, it is likely to immediatelty get to that max value. but by the time the moderator reloads, the unit is usuallt at near 0% slow already.

Slow damage works well with weapons that deal damage consistently, allowing it to maintain the slow effect.

I also miss the old moderator. It was nice AA support and a viable early unit which allowed Jumpies to survive air rushes. Now the only useful AA unit in the factory costs 550 metal.

You can use Freaker to maintain slow. Max slow is 50%.

Back when they did no damaage and jumpies had no way of dealing with things like zeus spam short of a sumo.

Lol. nub. I used to make sumo factory as my second factory of choice. There no rule that says you can't use more then one factory to get the right mix.

Factories are so cheap. I never really use jumpy fac as a starting fac in the past. Also there was Athena which i make to get certain units like the skirmish spider or scythes, or even fleas.
