I think they're so-so. They're ok for the price, at face value, although the AI around them and their projectiles often makes them suffer from just dancing uselessly around with their enemy in smaller clashes. Tiny projectile speed increase would help with that.

Higher projectile speed would make them better vs raiders. I dont think this fits the skirmisher role.

Their "dancing" problem comes into play vs other skirmishers, that is why they got a slow while reloading nerf in the first place. To make the skirm dance party's shorter and more decisive.

Giving them a slowdown on reload does however impact their ability to kite riots and assaults =/

Its not much better, but the ability to fire over eachother allows for better scaling regardless of terrain.

I still use ronins alot, once u have enough they tear apart basic porc contain assault units. but all this for cost is questionable and they suffer bad against slashers too much imo.

I seriously think ronins are too low cost for their own good.
With increased cost and according stat changes, they would suffer less from their linear firing arc.

Even if it shared its cost with the rogue, i would argue that the two units are sufficiently different in their other attributes (firing arc, dmg/hit and range) to not overlap.

Im not sure how to fix the kiting issue tho. Maybe nerf the slow a bit? Even a 6 elmo reduction (58 in combat movespeed) would do the trick.

Ronin is one of the very thin line units where if you made it 5m cheaper itd probably be the most OP spammed unit ever. It tends to get nerfed every time randy starts playing ZK again. Its not amazing currently but its not useless either, I'm pretty sure most cloaky players still make them so I dunno if it needs changing really.

A cost decrease is indeed not a reasonable option. It would not fix a single problem the ronin is dealing with rn, it would simply mean u get a larger wall of rockets a bit faster on the maps that would allow it.

Thus leading to early game dominance without actually interacting with the units its supposed to counter (but fails to do so) and the units that counter it.

I don't think projectile accuracy is a strength Ronin holds close to its heart. At least, not in comparison to Scalpel, Dominatrix, Firewalker, Moderator, Lance, Phantom, etc etc etc. Ditto for range.

I think the strengths that Ronin has or wants to have are low cost and high dps/cost. And its current problem in low-density fights vs many things is that it just can't output enough dps to kill most things before getting killed back.

If I had to pick a specific issue it would be range. You have to walk well into LLT range to fire a rocket. If it was only slightly within LLT range then you could probably micro in and out easier. Though again, slight buff might return rocko monospam meta.
