The old solution to koda - "ram a scorcher into it" - doesn't seem to work now that Koda is comfortably faster than Scorcher, and costs less than Scorcher + Dart.

It doesn't even have to regenerate for this to work.

It works in cases where the Kodachi isn't being completely micromanaged.
The micro requirements of the Kodachi may be exploitable if you can hit something at the same time you face the Kodachi. Your enemy MUST keep 100% attention on the Kodachi or it'll die.

I fear that requiring your enemy to make a mistake to be able to fight them is very unreliable.

If nobody makes a mistake, does Kodachi do anything beyond tie up a single Scorcher?

stinger in base, maybe dominatrix

basically my advice is "fight fire with water, not more fire"

every player makes mistakes.

The kodachi user can shoot the ground and wear down the chasing vehicles and then heal itself. The requirements for the light vehicle user are higher.

Sure: it forces a Stinger instead of expansion.

Also i don't think "tie up a single Scorcher" is a thing vs Kodachi because of their AoE being a scaling factor.

Sparkles complained about his micro in this game but I think Rovers can easily snowball if they get the first Kodachis for cheap:

The Kodachi player just don't know what he is facing when going in blind. A Lotus turret is one of the smallest threats as you have lots of time to react and turn around and only lose a bit of HP. A surprise Dart followed up by a quick Scorcher can easily kill the Kodachi or even just a single Scorcher that gets too close and follows the Scorcher. In this game I mostly depended on Scorchers that went in against the Kodachi from several angles at once.

I attempt several of these in this game, and not once does it work. Perhaps i'm rusty, or maybe the "close enough" means "practically point blank".

Kodachi's faster speed now also means that as the time goes, the Scorcher gets left behind further and further, which means the initial margin of error is much narrower.

I also saw your Scorchers drive through fires several times. Arguably, if you can't kill the Kodachi, you should turn around instead of dealing a bit more damage to the Kodachi. Even if the Kodachi shots the ground and your Scorcher takes some damage, it can drive through that fire 3-4 times without dying. Scorchers have longer range than Kodachis so if you just turn in time, you shouldn't even take damage against the Kodachi while forcing it back.

this is defense build starburster leave kodachis alone no kodachi never hurted anyone it's all the player who uses the kodachi ;D wink wink. u need more scorchers and less darts. anarchid could of beaten bleusteel he had to send scorcher to his base and get close so kodachis can hit thier own base. use thier own strength against themselves ;D

It will take me a couple more months to become convinced that this meta is a thing that doesn't fall apart under factory RPS. Consider: spamming Koda vs Hover would have been suicide for so many reasons (and i guess koda vs constable puppy moderator pyro is resignable as well).

After that, sure.

However, if this means that there's a strong factory RPS, like "tank vs rover", then playing tank vs rover is how you shine light on that (and jj vs tank is not).
