::Well, this is a general discussion for anyone to chime in, not aimed at you personally, so no reason to take it elsewhere. And it is only about the last sentence that has a link to the Unit Guide. Maybe an admin can update it or give someone who can update it the rights to edit it.
:::: offtopic: The damn general discussion here is going to bring nothing, since wiki as a whole supported by a handful of ppl. Who are you going to discuss stuff here with, three other people looking at wiki periodically (even after the fireworks at forum) with a cuts in dialogue taking days? How is that faster then straight-up contacting administration? If the only thing you see wrong with this guide is the link at the end then yeah, probably the same amount of sense sitting here, poking each problem 48 hours. Who needs consolidated work anyway. --[[User:UlTima RaTio|UlTima RaTio]] ([[User talk:UlTima RaTio|talk]]) 07:46, 30 April 2020 (CEST)

UlTima RaTio: Some grammar fixes, linked everything, replaced old images. Still needs tons of work, at least my eyes water a bit less now.

New to Zero-K? New to RTS games, even? This '''Newbie Guide''' will show you the ropes.

Basic Gameplay, Commands and Controls.

This chapter will teach you everything you need to know to play the game.

== Zooming ==
First try to zoom out to get an overview of the map. Use your '''mouse wheel''', or {{Key press|Page Up}}/{{Key press|Page Down}} to zoom out/in. You can also press {{Key press|Ctrl}}+{{Key press|Tab}} to toggle full-map view.

== Scrolling ==
You can use the '''arrow keys''', hold the '''middle mouse button''', or move your mouse to the edge of the screen to scroll. '''Middle-click''' on the '''minimap''' in the upper left will centre on that location.

''Hint:'' Use zooming to scroll: zoom out, move cursor to the desired position, then zoom in.

== Choosing your Start location ==
Pick one of the four [[Commander|Commanders]] and '''click''' anywhere '''in the green area''' to chose your starting location. Assuming it has not been chosen for you, normally, this is first phase of the game. The map will be divided into red-tinted and green-tinted areas. The green is your start box, the red is the enemy's. Try some [[Typical opening|typical opening]] moves.

<html5media loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/I32xChI.mp4</html5media>

Good starting locations are near metal spots, usually depicted as grey marks on the map. Pressing {{Key press|F4}} will toggle metal view mode, which makes metal easier to see by circling them along with showing their output below the circle. Alternatively, you can mouse over them to see their output value. Grey circles indicate they are unclaimed, teal/green ones indicate that you or your allies have claimed it, and red ones indicate that an enemy player has claimed it.

{{Key press|F4}} will also highlight metal sources (such as rocks or wrecks).

<html5media loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/BefElFr.mp4</html5media>

Note that the game will only start when all players have placed down their Commanders or when a certain amount of time has passed. You can try to speed this up by typing '''!force''' in all chat after pressing {{Key press|Enter}} to open a chat window.

== Selection ==
To select construction units such as your Commander, '''left click''' them. Holding down the left mouse button draws a rectangle that selects all units inside the area. Your commander can also be selected from anywhere on the map with the keyboard shortcut {{Key press|Ctrl}}+{{Key press|C}}.

To add to/subtract from current selection, hold {{Key press|Ctrl}} and '''click''' on the unit. Holding {{Key press|Ctrl}} and dragging a rectangle will add multiple units to the selection.

== Construction ==
First, start your economy by making a [[Metal Extractor]] - often referred to as a ''Mex''.

<html5media loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/ZKxiAWv.mp4</html5media>

With your Commander selected, select the '''Econ''' tab at the bottom left of the screen or press {{Key press|X}} to access the economy build menu. The Metal Extractor is at the top left of the economy tab, '''left click''' to select it. ''Shortcut:'' Press {{Key press|X}} and then {{Key press|Q}}.

Click the '''left mouse button''' to place the building on top of one of the metal spots, right next to where your commander should have spawned.

You can build any other buildings the same way as you built your metal extractor.

== Queuing Orders ==
'''Select the Metal Extractor''' ({{Key press|X}}-{{Key press|Q}}) from the build menu again, and while holding the {{Key press|Shift}} key, place it over the two other metal spots. This will place these orders at the end of his order queue, meaning he will execute them in sequence. Giving an order without {{Key press|Shift}} held cancels the queue in favour of the new order.

To cancel a single order in the queue, hold {{Key press|Shift}} and click on its location - in the case of a build order, you must have a building selected to do this.

You can also insert commands at arbitrary positions in the queue by holding down {{Key press|Space}} while issuing the order.

''Hint'': Selecting the [[Area Mex Command]] and dragging a circle radius over an area will order the commander (or any constructor selected) to place mexes over all spots in the area.

== Multiple Building Placement ==
Select the '''[[Solar Collector]]''' (Shortcut {{Key press|X}}-{{Key press|S}}) from the build menu, you'll also find it under the '''Econ''' tab. When placing it, hold down {{Key press|Shift}} again, left click and drag to place a line of buildings. Make at least 4. Solar Collectors produce +2 energy, the yellow resource bar in the top center.

Metal Extractors produce [[Metal]], the blue-grey resource in the upper right of the screen. Solar collectors produce [[Energy]], the yellow resource. You need both in equal amounts for construction.

== Factories ==
Build your Factory. Factories produce new units. '''Your first factory is free''' and is teleported in, just like your Commander.

<html5media loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/lR2iqPI.mp4</html5media>

'''Select your factory'''. You usually want to make sure it is set to '''repeat''', for constant production. <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/repeat_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Left Click the repeat button''', so that it turns green <img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/repeat_on.png" height="24" width="24"/>.

[[File:Queued units_new.png]]

You can add units to your factories production queue by '''left-clicking''' the icon of the units you wish to build. The factory will then immediately start production. To remove a unit from the queue, simply '''right-click''' the unit's icon.

The repeat option will allow your factory to keep producing units indefinitely at your chosen ratio. If you need a unit quickly, you can press {{Key press|Alt}} while clicking to order the factory to make individual (non-repeating) units as soon as possible, and then continue on with your repeat queue. The unit in production will finish building, and then the units added this way will be started.

{{Key press|Shift}} click adds/removes 5 of the chosen unit, {{Key press|Ctrl}} click is 20, and {{Key press|Ctrl}}+{{Key press|Shift}} click is 100.

A good start is to order your factory to produce one construction bot and around five raiders. (remember to put them on repeat)

== Assisting Factories ==
Any [[Unit classes#Constructor|Constructor]]s, including your Commander, can assist your factory's production. To do this, '''select the constructor''' and '''right click''' on the factory. This will give a 'guard' order, which makes the unit automatically help to build anything the factory is building. This is much cheaper than building additional factories, so if you want to produce faster - assist.

Additional factories are expensive to build. When you do make a second factory, it is good practice to choose a [[Units|Factory]] other than the one you started with. Only make an extra factory when you feel like you need extra variety (or in a forward position to reduce transit time).

== Orders ==
===Unit Selection===
You can '''select multiple units''' of the same type on your screen by double-clicking one of them. You can also press {{Key press|Ctrl}}-{{Key press|Z}} to select all units of all the unit types you currently have selected.

You can control-group units by pressing {{Key press|Ctrl}}+''#'' (''#'' being any number from 0 to 9). Pressing the number key will select that group of units.

===Unit Movement and Formations ===
You can order units to move by simply '''right-clicking''' at a location. Holding down the right mouse button when having multiple units selected draws a line or curve, which orders your units to spread out and proceed towards their position in the formation with equal spacing.

If you give an explicit order of "Attack Move" ({{Key press|A}} on keyboard) or "Move"({{Key press|M}} on keyboard), you can also draw a line or curve for formation (without bringing up the build menu if the selection includes cons).

More generally, you can select a command and draw a line anywhere on the battlefield using the '''left mouse button'''. Depending on your unit selection, one of the following will happen:
* If only a single unit is selected, commands will be queued along the line. This allows you to quickly draw a path to go around obstacles such as static defenses and more.
* If a group of units is selected, one command for every unit will be created along the line. This can be used to draw a formation before engaging the enemy, to spread up and so on.

This works for the following commands:
* [[Attack Move Command|Attack Move]]
* [[Jump Command|Jump]]
* [[Move Command|Move Command]]
* [[Patrol Command|Patrol]]
* [[Manual Fire Command|Manual Fire]]<sup>*</sup>
* [[Force Fire Command|Force Fire]]<sup>*</sup>
* [[Unload Command|Unload]]<sup>*</sup>

<nowiki>* </nowiki>To use a custom formation Attack or Unload order, you have to hold down the {{Key press|Alt}} key while drawing a line.

=== Holding formation ===
If your units are in formation, they can be told to hold that formation by holding down the {{Key press|Ctrl}} key while giving a move order ('''right click'''). The entire formation will move at the speed of the slowest unit involved.

===Combat ===
You can order units to attack a specific target by right clicking it. Note: units will automatically fire at enemies in range, so may not fire at the target first.

Nearly all units can shoot while moving.

Hold down the {{Key press|Shift}} key while having units selected to take a look at their current command queue. While doing so you can also add new commands to your selected units, which will then process all commands one after the other.

The '''Attack Move''' order will make units stop to engage enemies they encounter (like Attack Move in other RTS games). Additionally, they will also attempt to dodge enemy projectiles and kite enemies automatically; see [[Unit AI]] for more information.

===Area Orders===
By selecting a command, then pressing and holding the '''left mouse button''' an area order can be given. Drag the mouse to define a cylindrical area within which the command applies.

This works for the following commands:
* [[Unit_commands#Most_Common_Commands_and_Modifiers|Attack]]
* [[Area Attack Command|Area Attack]]
* [[Reclaim Command|Reclaim]]
* [[Repair Command|Repair]]
* [[Area Mex Command|Area Mex]]
* [[Load Command|Load]]
* [[Unload Command|Unload]]

''Note that there are various modifiers available for these commands. (For now) refer to [https://springrts.com/wiki/Balanced_Annihilation:Giving_Orders this page] for further information.''

===Group of Combat Units===
If you have a group of units selected, holding down {{Key press|Ctrl}} and giving the order of "Area Attack" (holding {{Key press|F}} on keyboard and dragging mouse) will have each of these units attack a particular target in the area selected, whereas if you select this group of units and "Area Attack" only (without {{Key press|Ctrl}}), all of these units will together attack one target after the other in the area selected.

If you have a group of units selected, holding down {{Key press|Alt}} and giving the order of "Attack" ({{Key press|F}} on keyboard) and drawing a line will spread targets along the line (useful for bombardments and laying down mines with [[Badger]]s).

== Unit states ==
Most units can be set to adopt a set of specific rules which they will follow automaticaly (ex: only fire in return, retreat while at <50% HP and so on).
For a complete guide refer to [[Unit states]].

== Command queuing ==
You can queue any command (attack orders, build orders, movement orders, patrol orders, repair orders, etc).

To do so, hold down {{Key press|Shift}} and give one or several units multiple orders. Holding down the {{Key press|Space}} key will allow you to insert an order at the start of the queue. If you hold down the {{Key press|Space}} key and the {{Key press|Shift}} key, the command will be positioned so your units will have to spend as little time traveling in total as possible. Note that this calculation ignores obstacles, it's nowhere near perfect.

== Factory orientation ==
You can use {{Key press|Insert}} or {{Key press|Delete}} to change which way your factory points.

== Factory repeat ==
You can set your factories to repeat unit production (see [[Unit states]]). Any units you queue will be at the end of the queue upon completion. Holding down the {{Key press|Alt}} key when queuing a unit will '''add''' this unit after the first one in the queue and, even when repeat is enabled, '''not repeat''' it.

If repeat (<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/repeat_on.png" height="24" width="24"/>) is currently on, {{Key press|Alt}} insert will place the new unit after the one currently being built.

* Currently constructed: Reaver (r)
* In queue: Glaive(r), Glaive(r), Envoy(r), Conjurer(r)
* {{Key press|Alt}}+Click on Knight
* Currently constructed: Reaver (r)
* New Queue: Knight, Glaive(r), Glaive(r), Envoy(r), Conjurer(r)
''Here (r) means a unit will be put at the end of the queue upon completion - "repeated"''

== Chat ==
Chat messages can be sent to a certain receiver by pressing one of the following key combinations. Alternatively, prefixes can be used to set the receiver. This also allows private messages. Prefixes are displayed as text after "Say:" on the chat input line. Once your audience is selected, use the last choice to keep chatting with that audience. There is no need to keep adding, for example, "<tt>a:</tt>" to keep talking to allies.

{|
|+ Chat audience selection
!Audience!!Key press!!Console prefix!!Prompt color!!Console text color
|-
|Allies||{{Key press|Alt}}+{{Key press|Enter}}||<tt>a:</tt>||green||green
|-
|Everyone||{{Key press|Ctrl}}+{{Key press|Enter}}||None||white||white
|-
|Spectators||{{Key press|Shift}}+{{Key press|Enter}}||<tt>s:</tt>||yellow||gray
|-
|Last choice||{{Key press|Enter}}||Last used
|-
|Private||||<tt>/w ''[username]''</tt>
|}

Messages containing your name will be red, while messages typed in the lobby while in game will be surrounded by three yellow arrows on each side.

Be careful with your choice of audience. If the text is white, you are, most likely, talking to everyone. This means that if you are saying something of tactical or strategic importance, your allies ''and'' your opponents will know about it!

== Placing map markers and map drawing==
Hold down the key '''below''' the {{Key press|Esc}} key. Depending or your keyboard this could be a tilde ({{Key press|~}}) or something else. With this key held down, use your mouse to:
* '''Left click''' and move to draw
* '''Middle click''' to ping the map with an unlabeled marker
* '''Right click''' to erase previous drawings and markers
* '''Double left click''' and type a message to place a labeled marker

== Shortcuts ==
Most buttons have a shortcut (hotkey). It is either displayed right on top of the button or revealed when hovered over. To edit shortcuts, hold down {{Key press|Space}} and '''left click on the command menu'''. This will bring up a list of existing shortcuts.

For further information refer to [[Hotkeys|Custom Keys]].

== Manuals ==
Further manuals and guides can be found on the [[Manual]] page and in the forum's [http://zero-k.info/Forum?categoryID=2 Strategy and tips] section.
There is also a manual for [https://springrts.com/wiki/UI_commands Spring UI commands].

== Map views ==
* {{Key press|F1}} toggles the height map
* {{Key press|F2}} toggles the pathing map
* {{Key press|F4}} toggles the metal map
* {{Key press|L}} toggles the line of sight view. It displays different colors for radar and direct line of sight, and red where one of your units jams enemy radars
== Starting to fight ==
You have a choice of several factories, each with its own set of units.

It is strongly recommended that you take a look at the [[Unit_classes|Unit Class]] guide to get an overview of what different unit types do. There is also information about specific [[Units|units]].

A [http://www.zero-k.info/Static/UnitGuide Unit Guide] provides a short summary of each unit.

Transports are used to rapidly move ground and sea forces around the battlefield. There are two transports: [[Charon]] and [[Hercules]]. Both are constructed at the [[Gunship Plant]]. This page is about their uses and abilities. See a different page for [[teleportation]].

= '''Basic Commands and Abilities''' =

=== Mass and Capacity ===
Transports can pick up and carry a single unit at a time.

[[Charon]] can carry '''light''' units while [[Hercules]] can carry any transportable unit. Transports cannot carry air units or the ship Striders: [[Shogun]] and [[Reef]]. Light units are units below 330 mass. All [[Strider Hub|Striders]] and [[Commander]]s are '''heavy''', as are the following units: [[Jack]], [[Minotaur]], [[Crab]], [[Jugglenaut]], [[Grizzly]] and [[Cyclops]]. A unit's transportability and mass can be viewed in an information window by Space+Clicking on the unit.

Laden transports have a speed penalty depending on the mass of their cargo. Transports receive no speed penalty for transporting units up to their own mass, otherwise, they have a speed modifier of <code>2*selfMass / (selfMass + cargoMass)</code>.

=== Loading ===
Transports can pick up any valid stationary unit, including stunned enemies. Transports have to physically lower themselves onto a unit to pick it up. This process can take a few seconds, depending on the target. Here are two ways to load units:
* Issue the [[Load Command|'''Load''']] command (hotkey '''L''') to a transport to load the target unit. This command is generally available as a right-click context command. Issue an area command with Click+Drag to tell multiple transports to load a group of units
* Select a mixed selection of transports and ground units and issue the '''Load Selected Units''' command (double tap '''L''') to have the transports load the selected units. Idle units will be loaded into the transports while units with orders will be loaded and transported to the end of their order queue.

=== Unloading ===
Transports can either carefully place their cargo on the ground or they can eject it in-flight.
* Use the [[Unload Command|'''Unload''']] command (hotkey '''U''') to unload carefully. This command can be issued in an area with Click+Drag or along a line with Alt+Click+Drag.
* Use the [[Eject Cargo Command|'''Eject Cargo''']] command (hotkey '''D''') to drop transported units. This may damage the dropped units. Transports carrying bombs draw a target on the ground based on their velocity.

= '''Transport AI''' =
[[Transport AI|'''Transport AI''']] can be toggled with the unit AI state toggle (<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/bulb_on.png" height='18' align="center" />) on transports. It has a few different aspects:
* Transports can be set to [[Guard Command|guard]] a factory to automatically pick up newly created units and drop them off at the end of the rally queue.
* Two queueable commands: ''Embark'' [[File:Embark.png|18px]] and ''Disembark'' [[File:Disembark.png|18px]] - these commands appear on transportable land units and factories when you build your first air transport. '''Embark''' &mdash; wait for transport to pick me up. '''Disembark''' &mdash; disembark from transport.

=== Possible uses ===
# Give bot factory waypoints through safe area next to the current battlefield.
#* Result: Units walk along these waypoints and if there are idle transports they will pick them up and transport them to their destination.
# Give factory waypoint to ally's base entrance followed by [[Patrol Command|patrol]].
#* Result: Units walk there and if transport nearby it will pick it up, drop it off and the unit will start patrolling.
# Give factory a move order near your base, ''Embark'', then move to an impassable mountain.
#* Result: Units will emerge from factory and enter ''Embark'' mode - they will stand there and wait for transport to get them to the mountain.
# Select crawling bombs, click to move to enemy base then click ''Embark''.
#* Result: Bombs will stop and wait for transports, transports will carry them to enemy base.
# Select Dantes, give them move commands across air safe areas, followed by disembark from behind the base spot and move to enemy base. Then click ''Embark''.
#* Result: Dantes will stop and wait for transports. Transport will carry them along the waypoints to back of enemy base, unload them. From there Dantes will continue on foot.

=== Notes and details ===
* Transported called by the '''Embark''' command will return to the spot where they took unit using the same path.
* Transports might skip some units because it finds it useless to transport them. It takes several things into account - distance of transport from unit, planned unit path, unit speed, transport speed, transport land times, terrain height differences - all of this is used to estimate the "benefit" of transporting given unit with air transport. Benefit = number of seconds saved by using transporter. It only transports units if benefit is higher than 5 seconds and in order of benefit (slowest units will be transported first, fast units might be ignored completely). Exception to this is the ''Embark'' command which serves as "priority" transport - units waiting with the ''Embark'' command will be served first.

= '''Ferry routes''' =
Ferry routes automate transports to travel units across a set path to a destination. The UI for creating ferry routes is (by default) in the upper left corner bar next to retreat and repair. The symbol is a red circle with a ray pointing out of it to the right ([[File:Ferry.png|18px]]). To create a ferry route, first left click the ferry route button, next left click the start location of your ferry route, then left click the destination. A ferry route does not have to be just a straight line, the path to take can twist and turn all you like by holding shift and left clicking between setting the start and destination. Your ferry route will appear as a hard red circle indicating the start and a line directing out of that circle towards the end.

<html5media width="560" height="320" loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/XHY0vP7.mp4</html5media>

You can even edit your ferry route, by clicking the ferry route button, hold shift and click on anyplace you placed a start, end, or corner to select it, and then click where you want that point to be.

<html5media width="560" height="320" loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/WC2qb03.mp4</html5media>

To remove a ferry route, click the ferry route button and left click a start location.

<html5media width="560" height="320" loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/SHFhe68.mp4</html5media>

Now that you have your ferry route, it's time to put it to use! Assign transports to the ferry route by issuing a move command into the start circle. The transtports will now stay within a short distance of the start, even if you try and move them away, waiting for units. take a unit you want to ferry, and issue a move order into the circle. Once the unit is in the circle, it will wait for a transport to pick it up and move it to the end of the ferry route. you can shift queue commands for the unit and it will follow the commands after the transport.

<html5media width="560" height="320" loop="true" autoplay="true">https://i.imgur.com/No0wGkg.mp4</html5media>

Potential uses for ferry routes are to move a large army around static anti-air cover to far locations, as the transports will follow the route both to and from the location. You can set your factory's way-point to the ferry route start, and units will wait for transports to ferry them.

There are a few bugs with the system, such as if you assign a transport to a ferry route one time it may be unable to ever be assigned to a different ferry route, sometimes units won't seen to call for transports when they are in the start circle. if you have a gunship plant's rally point in a ferry route, the transports will wait for transport instead of being added to the ferry route, so you need to manually move them into the circle. There seem to be cases where there are both units and transports at the start location, but the units wait for a transport that is already off on it's ferry mission to come back and pick them up, which is undesired. Somehow, units seem to wait for a transport outside the circle, and thus never get a transport to pick them up.If a unit is waiting and not picked up, it will never get assigned a wait command when issuing a move command into the circle, and if you want it to be ferried, you must manually issue a wait command on the unit while it is inside the ferry circle. If the LZ is cluttered with units at the end of the ferry, transports will get stuck and not place units down, instead just holding them hostage over the end point. All in all, while automated, ferry routes require periodical check-ups.

=== Notes and details ===
* In all of these cases transports return to the spot where they took unit using the same path.

Several units in ZK have special abilities that are activated with '''unique commands''' — though typically, these are all bound to the '''D''' key by default (similar to Special Weapons).

== Speed Boost ==
http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/planefighter.png [[File:Cmd sprint.png]]

The [[Swift]] multirole fighter has an ability to temporarily receive a massive boost to its flight speed through he use of the '''Speed Boost''' instant command. This is extremely useful to dodge missiles, avoid losing engagements, or quickly intercept incoming enemy bombers. Note that while most of the uses of Speed Boost are manual, this ability will be automatically used when [[retreat]]ing.

== Teleport Beacon ==
http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/amphtele.png [[File:Cmd drop beacon.png]]

The [[Djinn]] amphibious teleporter works by warping the units from its Lamp teleport beacon to its present deployed location. It can relocate the Lamp entry point by using the '''Teleport Beacon''' ability on any desired point on the map, as long as it's not blocked by an occupying structure or impassable terrain. For more information on teleportation refer to [[teleportation|this]] page.

== Drop Bombs ==
http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/gunshipkrow.png [[File:Cmd bomb.png]]

The [[Krow]] flying fortress has a special weapon that is only activated by the instant '''Drop Bombs''' command. Immediately upon command activation, the unit unleashes a salvo of bomblets directly beneath it, lasting several seconds.

The Krow has a significantly lowered acceleration and turn rate during the bombing run.

== Unleash Lightning ==
http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/bomberdisarm.png [[File:Cmd bomb.png]]

The [[Thunderbird]] disarm bomber has only one weapon and will use it automatically upon designated targets. However, it is also possible to activate the lightning weapon immediately by the manual '''Unleash Lightning''' command - usually in response to unexpected maneuvers by the targeted enemies.

UlTima RaTio: Created and filled up the page.

Teleportation is used for almost instant transportation from one side of the map to the other. The one unit capable of providing it is [[Djinn]], which can be constructed at the [[Amphbot Factory]]. This page is its uses and abilities. See a different page for more [[Transportation|traditional transportation means]].

= '''Mechanics''' =
Teleportation is made possible by [[Djinn]] and its companion - [[Lamp]] (further without links). Djinn serves as an exit portal, while Lamp is the entrance. Djinn is quiet expensive, so consider other options for moving your army first. Teleportation is best used late-game, and for transporting substantial armies. Getting Djinn into a correct position can be tricky as well, as it's quiet slow and somewhat squishy under prolonged fire. Main options here include:
* Moving Djinn under water, as many maps have a coastline along their borders, hidden from radars.
* Using [[Athena]]s, as they can get behind enemy lines unseen to create Djinn on the spot, as well as quickly set-up a frontline for arriving units.
* Carrying Djinn with a [[Charon]] can allow you to quickly deliver it for a sudden attack.

When delivered, Djinn will require a few moment to set-up his Lamp (default key is "D"). For the duration of establishing teleportation link it must be completely immobile. For that reason, while not using [[Athena]]s, it is recommended to set-up Lamp as soon as Djinn comes from production lines.

Teleportation can occur only while Djinn is static. To teleport your units, lead them close to the Lamp and right-click the context command (which looks like [[Load Command]] icon, [[File:Load.png|16px]]). After a few seconds, the unit will be teleported to the Djinns position. The bigger the unit, the longer the process will take. As such, if your enemy is unaware about the use of teleportation, it is better to transport bigger units first. When teleported, units will clutter-up near Djinn. If there is no terrain available for units to be transported to, the teleportation wont occur. As such, after ordering units into lamp, give a Shift-Move command somewhere near Djinn, in order to immediately lead them away from it. Djinn can teleport anything, from small [[Glaive]]s, to striders like [[Paladin]] and even air units!

= '''Possible uses''' =
Teleportation is most useful for instant troops movement, late-game pushes and more. Some examples include:
* Creating a Djinn behind enemies frontlines with [[Athena]]s and moving an army of raiders to strike at their economy.
* Creating a Lamp in the middle of enemy base to return high-value infiltrators, like [[Scorpion]], [[Scythe]]s or even a raiding [[Revenant]]s or a [[Krow]].
* Moving slow armies like [[Tank Foundry|tanks]] across multiple fronts.
== Multi Stunner ==

http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/striderscorpion.png [[File:Cmd dgun.png]]

The [[Scorpion]] infiltrator has a medium range (about most skirmishers reach) multi stunner. Upon activation, it strikes in small arc, providing complete disabling to anything in its path (including friendlies). Combined with [[Scorpion]]s inherent [[cloak|personal cloak]] unit gains large tactical usage, as it is capable of both stealthy approaching and disabling large chunks of closely moving armies and high-priority units, or even helping to stage its escape. Further stats are presented at [[Scorpion|this]] page.

== Napalm Rocket Salvo ==

http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/striderdante.png [[File:Cmd dgun.png]]

The [[Dante]] assault strider has a medium to long range napalm rocket salvo. When activated, the strider launches a barrage of 20 missiles, each dealing low damage, but leaving a strong napalm concoction behind. This weapon allows [[Dante]] to both reach over its intended (and expected by your enemies) range, even allowing it to go past the salvos range itself, as missiles can fly way past their maximum launch radius. Rocket salvo can be used to dispatch bunched up light enemy units, deter skirmishers which can put pressure on this strider due to range advantage, or even punish airforce fleets of your enemies. Further stats are presented at [[Dante|this]] page.

== Disarm Missile ==

http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/shipcarrier.png [[File:Cmd dgun.png]]

The [[Reef]] aircraft carrier has a long range single disarm missile. When used, it disarms any unit or structure in large radius. While [[Reef]] is able to stock up on those missiles, allowing for rapid fire, they're also quite costly (150 [[metal]] per piece), and their production consuming 5 metal each second . Further stats are presented at [[Reef|this]] page.

== EMP Missiles ==

http://manual.zero-k.info/unitpics/striderbantha.png [[File:Cmd dgun.png]]

The [[Paladin]] support strider carries EMP missiles. This allows it to launch salvos of 12 such armaments, providing complete disabling effect over a large area. Notice, that firing this weapon at further targets sharply decreases its accuracy. This, in combination with [[Paladin]]s own long range and lightning cannons allows this strider to contain large portions of enemy army, offer support during attacks and more. Further stats are presented at [[Paladin|this]] page.

During [[Commander]]s upgrade at level 4 you can gain a special weapon. There are several options, some depending on the starting chassis. These include:

https://zero-k.info/img/avatars/commweapon_clusterbomb.png Cluster bomb — available for Guardian and Recon — lets out a close-range shotgun-like blast of 8 high-damage pellets. Comparable to rocket salvos of [[Revenant]].

https://zero-k.info/img/avatars/commweapon_concussion.png Concussion shell — available for Recon — fires one short impulse with medium damage and strong toss-effect.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/unitpics/commweapon_sunburst.png Disintegrator — available for Guardian and Strike — directed beam of energy with extremly-high alpha damage potential, functions like [[Ultimatum]]s canon.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/unitpics/commweapon_disruptorbomb.png Disruptor bomb	— available for Strike, Recon and Egineer — launches single bomb with large AOE blast inflicting slow-effect on targets. Think of it as of a larger area [[Limpet]] on request.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/unitpics/commweapon_napalmgrenade.png Hellfire grenade — available for Guardian and Recon — launches single bomb with large AOE blast inflicting low damage and leaving a strong napalm concoction behind. An [[Inferno]]-like deterent.

https://zero-k.info/img/avatars/commweapon_multistunner.png Multistunner — available for Strike, Recon and Egineer — strikes in small arc, providing complete disabling to anything in its path (including friendlies). Somewhat weaker equivalent of [[Scorpion]]s special weapon.

https://zero-k.info/img/avatars/commweapon_slamrocket.png S.L.A.M. — available for Guardian — launches tactical missile with high vertical arclike tragectory. Functions as somewhat weaker equavalent of [[Eos]].

UlTima RaTio: Merged in the "Transportation AI" page (this is a newer page, plus the space for this section (transport ai+ferry routes materials found there(?)) was already given). Some quality of life improvements, some typos fixed.

=== Mass and Capacity ===

=== Loading ===

=== Unloading ===

'''Embark''' = wait for transport to pick me up. '''Disembark* = disembark from transport

=== Possible uses ===

=== Notes and details ===

You can even edit your ferry route, by clicking the ferry route button, hold shift and click on anyplace you placed a start, end, or corner to select it, and then click where you want that point to be. To remove a ferry route, click the ferry route button and left click a start location.

=== Notes and details ===
* In all of these cases transports return to the spot where they took unit using the same path.

UlTima RaTio: /* Drone Construction */ Filled a missed section.

Most units and buildings have 'behavior states' that can be set by the player to modify unit behavior on the fly. The state settings are set per-unit to allow different behavior of the same unit types.

[[File:Factory commands.png]]

The right side of the menu displays the settings of the selected units. This display is used to edit the settings. Clicking on a state toggles it. Most states with more than two settings can be toggled backwards with right click.

There is a subtlety in the use of this display: When multiple units in the selection have the same settings different states the display only shows one of the states. A displayed state does not guarantee all units in the selection have that state. Clicking on a state guarantees that every selected unit has the setting displayed after clicking.

== Factory States ==
Factories have many states that usually make no sense for an unarmed structure. Units produced by a factory inherit most of the factory's states if the units have no other default.

== Default States ==
Units can be set to adopt a particular state upon creation from the menu (under Settings/Unit Behaviour/Default). For instance, an artillery unit could be set to Hold Position by default.

== State List ==
Following is a list that explains each state and it's settings.

=== Fire State ===
Firestate controls a unit's automatic targeting behaviour. This state is available for all armed units and structures. Player given commands and guard retaliation overrides firestate. As in a unit set to Hold Fire will still fire if it is given a direct order to attack. Units do not lose their current target when firestate changes.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/fire_atwill.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Fire at Will''' — Fire at any/all enemies within range.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/fire_return.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Return fire''' — Fire back at enemies that hurt the unit.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/fire_hold.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Hold Fire''' — Will not fire unless ordered to.

=== Move State ===
Movestate controls how freely a unit can move in pursuit of it's target. All mobile units have movestate.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/move_roam.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Roam''' — The unit will move to attack nearby targets and chase them if they run away. Constructors will only assist ally construction if set to Roam.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/move_engage.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Maneuver''' — This behaves similarly to Roam, but with a shorter "leash".

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/move_hold.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Hold Position''' — Unit will not automatically chase enemies or use unit AI. Units will chase with an attack command and use unit AI if they have an Attack Move command.

=== Repeat ===
Repeat causes a unit's order queue to loop. Upon completing an order the order is added to the end of the queue. This is particularly useful for factories because a production queue can be repeated.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/repeat_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Repeat On'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/repeat_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Repeat Off'''

=== Overkill Prevention ===
Some units have ''overkill prevention'' (OKP), such that if only one unit needs to fire to kill the target, other units will try to find a different target instead. This reduces wasted shots, useful for long-reload units such as [[Scalpel]]s.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/overkill_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Overkill Prevention On'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/overkill_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Overkill Prevention Off'''

=== Retreat ===

Sets the retreat level. See [[Retreat]].

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/retreat_90.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Max Retreat''' — Unit retreats to the closest retreat position when health drops below 99%.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/retreat_60.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''2/3 Retreat''' — Unit retreats to the closest retreat position when health drops below 65%.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/retreat_30.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''1/3 Retreat''' — Unit retreats to the closest retreat position when health drops below 30%.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/retreat_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''No Retreat''' — Unit does not auto-retreat.

=== Selection Rank ===
<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/selection_rank_0.png" height="24" width="24"/>
<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/selection_rank_1.png" height="24" width="24"/>
<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/selection_rank_2.png" height="24" width="24"/>
<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/selection_rank_3.png" height="24" width="24"/>

Selection rank determines which units are selected when dragging a selection box around units with different ranks. Only the units in the selection box with the highest rank are selected. This is what keeps buildings and construction units from being selected with combat units.

By default, most buildings have selection rank 1, factories and constructors have rank 2, and all combat units have rank 3. Selection rank can be changed for selected units, or it may be changed globally in the options menu. For example, if you don't want your Commander or anti-air units to be selected with the rest of your combat units, reduce their selection rank.

=== Build Priority ===

Priority lets you control resource spending more accurately and without resorting to putting more constructors on an important project.

There are 3 levels of priority and each level gets to use resources before the levels below it. First resources are split evenly between high priority construction, if there are any resources left over the resources are split between normal priority construction. If both high and normal priority construction is working at full capacity the remaining resources are available for low priority construction.

Both constructors and nanoframes have a priority button. If nanoframe priority is set all constructors with normal priority working on it will work at the priority of the nanoframe. A constructor with priority set simply works at that priority level.

Additionally a portion of your resources can be reserved to only be used by high priority construction (and unit morphing). Set the reserve level for both metal and energy by left-clicking on either resource bar (metal reserving must first be enabled in the menu). Right-click on a bar to set the reserve for that resource without affecting the other resource type.

http://licho.eu/alba/Zero-K_Manual/resourcebar_reserve.png

''A resource bar at approximately 50% energy reserve and 25% metal reserve''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_high.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''High Priority''' — Constructors are always funded.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_med.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Normal Priority''' — This is the default. Constructors with this set have their priority overridden by the nanoframe they are constructing.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_low.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Low Priority''' — Constructors use any resources left over to construct.

==== Misc Priority ====
Misc. priority is used for the unit's personal, non-construction resource consumption, i.e. from abilities like [[commander]] upgrades or [[Trinity]] stockpiling.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_high_other.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''High Priority'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_med_other.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Normal Priority'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/wrench_low_other.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Low Priority'''

=== Factory Assist ===

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/autoassist_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Auto-assist Factory''' — Constructor do not follow the factory rally point. Instead they assist the factory that created them.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/autoassist_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Default Behaviour''' — Constructor will continue to rally point when exiting factory.

=== Cloak ===

Toggles unit cloak. See [[Cloak]]

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/cloak_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Enable Cloak'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/cloak_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Disable Cloak'''

=== Unit AI ===

Toggles smart AI for the unit. See [[Unit AI]]

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/bulb_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Unit AI ON''' — Turn ON the game's default unit AI for this unit (skirm, skirmish, and/or Anti-Air AI).

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/bulb_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Unit AI OFF''' — Turn OFF the game's default unit AI for this unit.

=== On/Off ===
On/Off controls various miscellaneous unit states. It is used to toggle activation on radar, sonar and cloakers. It also toggles the armour ability of the [[Solar Collector]], [[Lucifer]] and [[Desolator]].

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''On'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/off.png" height="24" width="24"/> ''' Off'''

=== Idle State ===

Aircraft can be told to fly in a holding pattern or land when idle.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/fly_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Free Flying''' — Unit continues flying when idle.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/fly_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Land on Idle''' — Unit lands when idle.

=== Float State ===

Some amphibious units can float to the surface of the ocean to fire their weapons. They are immobile when floating

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/amph_float.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Always Float''' — Unit automatically floats when idle.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/amph_attack.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Float to Fire''' — Unit automatically floats if an enemy is in range and sinks otherwise. Units with long reload time sink between shots.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/amph_sink.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Always Sink''' — Unit does not float.

=== Trajectory ===

Certain long range artillery units can be toggled between high and low trajectory firing.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/traj_high.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''High Trajectory''' — Shoot with a high arcing shot. This is useful for shooting over terrain that blocks direct line of sight.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/traj_low.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Low Trajectory''' — Unit fire directly toward the enemy. This can be useful because directly fired projectiles are more accurate and spend less time in flight.

=== Fire at Radar ===
Some units with long-range precision weapons, like the Sharpshooter and Penetrator, can be ordered not to fire on radar dots (i.e. targets inside radar range but outside visual range). Note that these units will still fire on buildings outside line of sight if the target position is known precisely (indicated by the "ghost" building).

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/stealth_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Fire at Radar Dots'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/stealth_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Don't Fire at Radar Dots'''

=== Dive State ===

[[Raven]] by default dive bombs to attack units under area shields, and moving targets. It can also dive bomb normally or constantly fly at a lower altitude.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/divebomb_shield.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Dive Bomb Shield or Mobile'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/divebomb_attack.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Dive Bomb Mobile'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/divebomb_always.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Always Fly Low''' — This causes it to fly at a lowered altitude all the time. It is weak to ground units in this state.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/divebomb_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Always Fly High''' — Will not use dive bomb. This can make it difficult to hit moving or shielded targets.

=== Area Cloak ===

Toggles an area cloaker. Area cloak is also disabled if the unit's On/Off state is set to Off. See [[Cloak]]

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/areacloak_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Activate Cloaking Field''' — Cloak all allied units within cloaking field radius.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/areacloak_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Disengage Cloaking Field''' — Do not emit cloaking field.

=== Gunship Strafe ===
Most gunships can circle-strafe their target when attacking.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/strafe_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Strafe''' — Dodge ground projectiles by circling over the targeted enemy.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/strafe_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''No Strafe''' — Deactivate strafing for gunships. Use this to keep out of range of static AA.

=== Kill Captured ===

[[Dominatrix]] can be set to automatically destroy units that it captures.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/capturekill_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Auto-Self Destruct''' — Immediately self-destruct the captured units.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/capturekill_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''No Self Destruct''' — Maintain normal control over captured units, no self-destruct.

=== Drone Construction ===
Units capable of drone production can switch it on or off.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/drones_on.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Production of drones is ongoing'''

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/drones_off.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Production of drones is stopped'''

=== Impulse Mode ===
[[Newton]] and [[Jugglenaut]] can be set to push or pull units with their gravity guns.

<img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K/master/LuaUI/Images/commands/states/push_alt.png" height="24" width="24"/> '''Push'''
Transport AI

UlTima RaTio: Added some pictures, fixed one small letter (wow). Will propably later pick-up ferry for a short video and rework it as a whole or whatever.

'''Transport AI''' involves 2 basic things:

* Transports automatically pick up units from factories and drop them off at their waypoint (they follow factory orders until nearest non-move command).
* Two queueable commands: ''Embark'' [[File:Embark.png|20px]] and ''Disembark'' [[File:Disembark.png|20px]] - these commands appear on transportable land units and factories when you build your first air transport. '''Embark''' = wait for transport to pick me up. '''Disembark* = disembark from transport

=== Possible uses ===
# Give bot factory waypoints through safe area next to the current battlefield.
#* Result: Units walk along these waypoints and if there are idle transports they will pick them up and transport them to their destination.
# Give factory waypoint to ally's base entrance followed by patrol.

=== Ferry routes ===
Ferry routes automate transports to travel units across a set path to a destination. The UI for creating ferry routes is (Default) in the upper left corner bar next to retreat and repair. The symbol is a red circle with a ray pointing out of it to the right ([[File:Ferry.png|20px]]). You can even edit your ferry route, by clicking the ferry route button, hold shift and click on anyplace you placed a start, end, or corner to select it, and then click where you want that point to be. To remove a ferry route, click the ferry route button and left click a start location.

Somehow, units seem to wait for a transport outside the circle, and thus never get a transport to pick them up.If a unit is waiting and not picked up, it will never get assigne a wait comand when issuing a move comand into the circle, and if yuo want it to be ferried, you must manually issue a wait command on the unit while it is inside the ferry circle. If the LZ is cluttered with units at the end of the ferry, transports will get stuck and not place units down, instead just holding them hostage over the end point.

=== Notes and details ===
* In all of these cases transports return to the spot where they took unit using the same path.
}}==Description==
The Newton is armed with an experimental graviton projector. This weapon does virtually no damage directly, but can push units toward or away from the Newton. You can use it on your own units as well, but beware of friendly fire.

= Tactics and Strategy =
Being priced twice the cost of usual defensive structures, like [[Picket|LMT]] or [[Lotus|LLT]], and not dealing any direct damage — it is hard to find a cost-effective use for the Newton. However, use its strong sides, and this turret turns into a game changer.

The Newtons weapon of choice is a gravity gun. It can work in two mods: push (repulsing) [[File:push_alt.png]] and pull (attraction) [[File:pull_alt.png]]. This can be switched in units panel, default key being "O". Pushing or pulling units with enough force or under right circumstances will cause them to be lifted off the ground and tossed the desired direction. This can be either used to deter lightweight enemies, drag them out of formation or push them to certain death by causing collision damage.

While most common turrets deal direct damage, and are usually able to dispatch a few raiders on their own at most, the Newton can hold off a small squad or army. Locating it on a hill will allow this turret to easily peel off small raids and hold them off indefinitely, eventually even killing several enemies. It can also punish solo-raiders, like [[Pyro]]s or [[Kodachi]]s.

One of the more exquisite and late game strategies with the Newton includes a construction of a [[Newton Firezones|home-brew mass driver]]. This can lead to an unexpected and strong hit on the enemies turf.

While the Newton has a very specific role, and wont come into play each game, it exceeds in the hands of an experienced player in the right circumstances.
}}==Description==
The Jugglenaut's impressive armor makes it a near-unstoppable sphere of death. It slowly advances on enemy units to break up their formation with its Gravity Beams and stomp them into ground using its jump. Its stomp is the only way it can damage buildings.

== Tactics and Strategy ==
The Jugglenaut is a beast of a unit and certainly a highlight of [[Jumpbot Factory]]. Classified as a heavy riot, it can fulfill a number of roles of which you couldn't even think of, utilizing its impressive health-pool, gravity-manipulation weaponry and adorable looks. Notice, that using the Jugglenaut requiers quiet a bit of finess and an understanding of some of the more in-depth game mechanics.

The main weaponry of the Jugglenaut is represented by twin gravity guns, with a force equivalent of two [[Newton]] turrets. They can work in two mods: push (repulsing) [[File:push_alt.png]] and pull (attraction) [[File:pull_alt.png]]. This can be switched in units panel, default key being "O". Applied to enemy (or even a friendly unit) causes the Jugglenaut to shift the target along the ground, or even lift it off completely. Effectiveness largely depends on units mass, which can be viewed in its description. Each unit is affected differently. Most, however, will go flying right into Jugglenaut, causing collision damage. This will damage the jumper, but first most results in the death of an enemy.

Gravity guns have a number of applications, from scattering light-weight units like [[Glaive]]s and pushing away [[Snitch]]es, to tearing off [[Crab]]s, to which Jugglenaut is a natural predator, or singling out units like [[Felon]] from a group of enemies. This, however, can be turned into a weakness. In a pull mode [[File:pull_alt.png]] the Judgelnaut can take quiet a bit of collision damage, greatly decreasing it health and battle readiness. If your opponent is distracted from its white sphere of death, a good tactic is either feeding it a few walking bombs, to either disable or cripple enemy formation, or units like [[Dirtbag]]s, dealing cheap damage. Also notice that attacking from the side of the Jugglenaut can bear greater succesess, as its guns can point together only at its front or back, and a strike from a side will meet only half its firepower. It also struggles against static defences.

While the Jugglenaut is a walking fortress, for the reasons listed above it will usually traverse the battlefield wounded. A good idea is keeping a few builders, like [[Constable]]s, on the ready to heal it, or to periodically pull it off the frontlines.

In a desperate situation for retreat, while dealing with buildings, or to start a new space program for enemy units the Jugglenaut can jump. This will cause it to momentarily come to a full stop in oder to prepare, after which it will lunge into air and deal a huge amount of damage in its landing spot. Notice, that landing amidst friendlies will cause friendly losses.

Fighting enemy Jugglenaut can be tricky. Generally, you want to use it gravity weaponry against it, strike at a greater range, or simply outmaneuver it.
The Dirtbag exists to block enemy movement and generally get in the way. They are so dedicated to this task that they release their dirt payload upon death to form [[Terraform|little annoying mounds]]. While waiting for their fate Dirtbags enjoy headbutting and scouting.

= Tactics and Strategy =
Highly utilitarian, literally dirt-cheap. Annoying. The Dirtbag can serve in a number of ways and sometimes turns out to be a game-changing unit.

While a bit slower then a [[Bandit]], Dirtbags are also twice as cheap, and have an ability to jump, which, combined with having the same vision radius, turns them into a great scout early game. As a last ditch effor, Dirtbag can try to self-detonate on enemies metal-spots, restricting the [[mex]] construction. Kinda annoying.

As such, Dirtbags also serve as excellent screens against units such as [[Widow]]s or [[Phantom]]s, but they will require some fire-support to completely drive-off the enemy. They also one-shot [[Flea]]s. Irritating, huh.

The Dirtbag can turn game for [[Hovercraft Platform]] and [[Tank Foundry]] players into a clumsy mess. After death, Dirtbags spawn a [[Terraform|little ugly mound]], about the height of their legs. In-mass, this can turn the battlefield into a claustrophobic unreadable horror of a terrain, providing you with a cheap terraforming option, and a huge advantage if you or your allies switch into [[Spider Factory]]. Beware, that the mounds will form wherever the Dirtbag dies, and will potentially restrict your [[Radar Tower|radar]] vision. Pesky little things.

Finally, Dirtbags can draw fire, helping during charges on [[Stinger]]s and other defences alike, being a target for [[Lance]]s, clog up [[Jugglenaut]]s in pull-mode, draw-out [[Imp]]s and a lot more. When someone hits you, try throwing some dirt in their face, turns out it might just help.
The Bolas is a second option of raider for the hovercraft factory. Named uniquely a "heavy-raider" it is one of the more expensive ground raiders. It wields a slow pulse beam and excels at one-on-one engagements, but is somewhat fragile for its cost.

The Bolas is capable of dispatching many units in one-on-one engagements, even the direct-counter ones like riots [https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/index.php?title=Unit_classes#Riot]. As such, the Bolas should never be faced with a lone unit/lower numbers. The key to defeating a group of Bolases comes down to a few options:

- Overwhelm them with numbers;

- Fight them at a great range/disadvantageous terrain (as all hovercraft struggle with hills);

- Create an opening using disabling methods like [[Imp]]s, [[Racketeer]]s or [[Outlaw]]s;

- Use a bait, like [[Dirtbag]]s or [[Halberd]]s.

While using the Bolas yourself, remember to group up several of them for greater results. Whittle down your opponent with hit-and-run, accumulating the slow-effect on their units, and allowing the Bolases or other troops to finish the enemy off.
}}==Description==
The Dagger is the hover plant's scout. It provides a cheap, disposable method of getting intel, and can also hit economic targets of opportunity. Its light Gauss gun can also hit underwater targets.

== Tactics and Strategy ==
Although they lack the damage-per-second values of most other raiders, such as [[Glaive]]s or [[Bandit]]s, Daggers have their own advantages over them. Not only are Daggers' speed unrivaled on the surface, their gauss guns pack enough punch to kill a Glaive in just 3 shots, plus they penetrate through multiple targets. Don't be surprised to see your armies of Glaives lose out against an equal force of Daggers, especially if said Daggers use the attack-move command to automatically kite your Glaives to oblivion.

The Dagger is a versatile raider, capable of attacking surface, air, and even underwater targets, which is useful to know if your enemy is fielding a mixture of said units.
