http://springrts.com/wiki/Build_from_source
There is a warning about sync errors, but I wonder why that CAN happen ANYWAY !

I have NOT build it from source, but downloaded the binary packages from "http://ppa.launchpad.net/spring/ppa/ubuntu oneric main".

This should be save - or not?
Does it haven't found the binaries ( maybe because of a server downtime ) and tried the source automatically without notice to me?

From http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=27005

"If I understand this: http://springrts.com/mantis/view.php?id=2459 correct the package in universe syncs (http://packages.ubuntu.com/oneiric/spring), but the one in PPA not. So try that... There is also hope for the future: the next release seems to work with gcc4.6"

I m running linux self compiled spring on debian squeeze stable, and desynced in this map too. Never happened before with squeeze. Singlethreaded.
