Some thoughts:
  • Is Panther too bad against Scorcher, in light of the rest of the matchup?
  • Is Thunderbird too good? Shouldn't people expect it when their opponent is massing TB-friendly raiders and do their own switch?
  • I like how well Scorcher and Dart work together. Shame that the tank raiders don't do anything like this.

Panther has explicitly been made bad vs Scorcher, and Ogre took over that role.

Exactly, I remember. Maybe Panther no longer needs to be explicitly bad.

thunderbird allows the raiders to keep the threat level so high that the poor opponent can't even attack unless he's using the few very fast units as well, or spends much more in AA than the thunderbird costs.

This has been broken for a long time. The slowing darts just make it more visible.

But I like Thunderbird...
I'd rather have Darts slow removed than nerfing Thunderbird.
Remember when Thunderbird had like 30 second STUN time?
Then even slow units could exploit the strength of da TOUNDERBEERD!
Currently, rovers are arguably the factory that can harness the most out of da bird since that their units are so fast compared to their equivalents.
DaBird is DaWord!

Actually, if DaBird did slow damage instead, then more units and factories could harness DaPowa of DaBird.
All praise DaBird!

How long does it take for the slow effect to deteriorate?

The config says that slow damage starts decaying after 0.5s and decays at 4% per second. The decay is paused for 0.5s after taking slow damage. Some units (Limpet and perhaps Moderator) can give units more than 50% slow damage but the actual effect of the slow is capped at 50%. This is similar to the EMP and disarm timers.

And the mean machine clan were insisting it wasn't overpowered? :D
