I was wondering if there was a way to add custom music to the game. Is there a music folder I can access?

What PLrankAdminSprung said is correct just create sounds folder on the same level as "maps" and "games" are in your installation.

So Basicly Document/mygames/Spring and create it in spring?

Yes. You can make different folders for music depending on the situation:

My Documents/My Games/Spring/sounds/music/war/
My Documents/My Games/Spring/sounds/music/peace/

Music has to be in the OGG format.

The peace tracks are the ones that play at the beginning, switching to the war tracks once combat starts happening. There are also victory and defeat but those only play after game over so there's not much point in customisation.

Nowhere. It's in ZK's packed files. Just make your own dirs if you want to add music, or take from Github if you want the existing files.

Here is also some more music files from repo that are currently unused (propably mostly because that the dont fit the game very well) https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K-Artwork/tree/master/music
They are awsome though. Also for general knowlege of the ZK peoplez - the author who made the most od the ZK music is called Denny Schneidemesser.

that music is really nice. at times reminds me of Hans.
I could imagine hearing it in a movie or something.
edit: not to say it all belongs, of course. some of it obviously wouldn't be very fitting, but nice to listen to nonetheless.

Oh wait, is it under the artwork repo? In that case I may have to download all the repos and compile them.

What do you want to do? To add your own custom music, simply create the directories (eg. /My Documents/My Games/Spring/sounds/music/war/ ) and put your music inside. You don't have to touch anything else (and especially not repack ZK).

That is because the music of Denny Schneidemesser IS supposed to be a music for movies. He even works in a company that does just that (at least according to his soundclick profile). One thing i dream of is that he could make a dedicated music for ZK :D.
Especially that current music is under CC-BY-NC-ND in wich ND means that you cannot make any "derivative works". So for example: one cannot edit the music for the trailer, but it can be included in a trailer for ZK in unchanged state.

Once upon a time i collected a playlist of creative commons tracks with intention that they would be cued to thematic game events. For instance, "Hades Rebellion" would play for Dante encounter events. A list of suggestions for that project was generated.

It didn't get anywhere. Maybe it should be just committed wholesale without any fancy logic on top. Or maybe there's interest by someone else to pick this up.

I've found this track to be a good fit for Battle music in Zero-K: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02904

Maybe it could be remade without the airman theme...? Maybe a more Zero-K-ish base tune?
