Singu was almost great with it nuke-like explosion, idea about collapsing seems interesting but from my point of view it needs to be more shiny :P
Any fix?

I agree. I like the concept of the explosion effect but it is a bit lacking in execution. There is quite a bit of room for scripting as well, you could have an initial phase of the explosion which is a lot of negative impulse and a second phase which is more standard and throws everything outwards.

Also it could do with more negative impulse, it does not attract Detriments enough.

Such things could be seemed not so important but really it's one of the aspects that makes players smile and write tons of fun stuff in chat :)

Can the animations currently used be doubled in lifespan and size and quantity?

The animation is cool, but there needs to be more of it.

Insufficient use of lups distorts, too.

Long term deshiny darkened area glow while alive would be cool too. Because black hole is black.

I like AUrankAdminGoogleFrog 's idea about 2 stage animation - first collapsing and then exploding like a singu did before(probably with some smooth effect but not necessary)
and IMO collapsing should be stronger :)

I was thinking something like have the black hole slowly expand, dramatically sucking in units and buildings for a prolonged period before slowly shrinking again. An explosion at the end would be optional. :)

Just for the record, if you'd want to be mediocrely realistic, the black hole would (assuming you don't feed it enough anymore) shrink in size rapidly while emitting rapidly increasing amounts of (hawking) radiation.

Ignoring any coolness constraints, this could maybe result in:
1. Heavy pull effect (since singu is no longer shielded) that diminishes over time.
2. DPS that builds up rapidly and maybe ends in an explosion.

The gameplay impact would be ok I think, it would draw in units at first so they are exposed to the heavy subsequent damage.

Hmm, so more like it expands with increasing speed for a few seconds until reaching its maximum radius, then explodes. That would be cool too.

The original one with the black hole evaporating almost instantaneously (it's a really small black hole, after all) and making a nuke-like boom was the realistic one.

This thread is called "Singu explosion is not -shiny- enough", not "singu explosion is not realistic enough". :P
