Yesterday I saw that now there is 32max slot zk server. Thats really nice, since I like massive games, I m not old spring player, but I know that at first there was 1v1 mostly and player numbers in game increased over time. So will player count shift from "standard" 16 to 24 or 32 player soon? Thats really interesting. What others thing about 24 player games?

So we will need better maps for big games (and a better map render, maybe this http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=19614 ), a better metal share system, and more end game/super units.

Wrong! We need better game performance to even think about higher player numbers and bigger maps.

I'd like to see multiple rooms with 6-16 players instead of a single 32 one. Multiple rooms means PW games will be easier to balance. It wont have to put enemy factions, attackers and defenders, etc into a single team. It will be possible to balance teams of/into multiple rooms and create 'perfect games'!!

We need to take advantage of our higher player count to split rooms up along lines of skill (in particular). In every other game, you're balanced with people near your skill level. Only in a small community like Zero-K will you get balanced with -worse- people when you have high skill.

What we need is a real automatching service. The way most Spring servers go is server-fills-up, game starts, and guys who can't join spill over to the next server. With a 32-player cap, servers will never fill and so there will be no spillover, which means one game at a time and more waiting for players.

There's new moderator options to split games. Expect to see them in action in the near (or long) future! I think most devs say automatching is useless for the current number of players and agree with them.

Oi I nearly forgot. Matchmaking has been discussed some time ago. You probably already guess it, the moderator commands !move !splitplayers and !join are the first steps to matchmaking.

Seems they're much faster than I thought.

I agree with Saktoth, to make zero-k more popular devs need to make players game with similarly skilled players. Focus on that and i think zero-k will grow.

Then there will be battles with 3x3 no more. What is needed badly is advertisment. Also spring itself isint very stable thats quite a problem.
