Hello Zero-K cans!
It's me Orfelius trying to make some exciting FPVODs on YouTubes.

I will be trying to upload a video every 2 days if availability of ZK players/lawnmowers/internet connection/drills in my walls/screaming kids on the street/arguing neighbors allow. Also it should be known that I plan to let's play some other games in some time especially if i can't get a good ZK footage because reasons mentioned above.

Honestly, you doesn't say anything interesting or funny and sometimes it's hard to understand you. Also, games sounds are too loud, so sometimes I couldn't hear you.

God fucking damn it.

For once i decide try practicing that shit factory and not only i lose 20 elos, but the game also ends up on the fucking youtube.

Also, dont mean to derail the thread, what options do spiders even have on maps like barren against cloakies? Early switch to rockos (with occasional glaives) counters most of my earlygame units, and by the time i can get a decent recluseball/crabe, i end up controlling less than 30% of the map.

Try to talk more about your strategy and how/why you make certain decisions.
The intersection game was frustrating for me because you never took the two mexes in front of your base :'(
And RUrankYogzototh: From the replay it is clear that you should have used more fleas. Orf's base was pretty vulnerable the whole game, and for a big part of the early game he had only 2 glaives and spammed pure rockos, which could have been punished by fleas.
In small numbers, venoms can dodge rockets, with some good positioning (ambushing:surrounding) you can catch some rocko's, if you have something to do the damage.

The thing about venoms is that they can take out billions of glaives easily. You take a weaver, 2-3 venoms, and make defenders. This kills infinite glaives, while letting you expand. Rockos are slower,so you need to scout and keep track of their movements so you can counter with recluses. You seemed to move your army in 1 ball the whole time, when you really didnt need more than a few units at a place.

Well, other than audio/presentation stuff that's just a matter of practice, I'd recommend turning outlines on. It will help the video compression to figure out what objects are, so they won't get as fuzzy. h.264 compression actually does try to figure out what the objects in a scene are to optimize their compression, so this is useful. Also generally helps in distinguishing what units are which.

I always use Outline and XRayShader, since those two widgets basically let the icon distance go up by about 50 with the units being just as easy to distinguish and recognize. It just so happens to also help with h.264 compression.

I don't like the outline personally but I suppose for the sake of a viewer I can go with it. XRayShader however is just great! It makes units more waay visible. Especially underwater units. Makes me wonder why isn't it enabled on deflaut.

I hate to necro this and etc (also I find it hard to believe that it has been 2 months already) but due to latest dare by CArankAdminShadowfury333 and@ Anarchid I will be streaming speed-mapmaking on hitbox this friday (10th of July) at 5 PM UTC.

I am supposed to remake Deadlands in 20-30 minutes to surpass the quality of LivingLands a recently featured map that has replaced the previous one. If you wont be able to attend the stream I will also record the run and upload it into YouTube some time later.

why waste effort remaking the map that just got remade? you could remake geyser or aliendesert, even with only 30 mins you could probably do better job lol

Rephrasing it as "remaking any map in 30 minutes to a higher degree of quality" should be, and is an acceptable compromise between staying true to the letter and raising the average map quality.

Recluse is not a good choice.. against Rocko I would be tempted to spam Hermits with some venom and flea support as applicable. the matchup is just a difficult one though.

FWIW livinglands gets the metal placement pretty spot on I think, but it loses tonnes with the new texture. Firstly the texture is just much noisier and brighter it makes it harder to see units on, and secondly it loses an impression of the degree of the slopes: The texture looks manually painted on, rather than calibrated to increase in rockiness the steeper the slopes get: this means some of the slopes are harder to read. Ideally you want one texture for flats, one texture for bot-only areas, and a third for impassable areas. Finally and this is mostly personal, but I think there are a lot of green grassy maps out there and there is more variation to be had than that. But hey I made the texture on the original so I'm biased.

I would say that i like livinglands 10% more because of mex layout and because of how the rocks placed near side cliffs make them much more pleasing to the eye.

Deadlands texture is better done almost everywhere.
