I just played a game on Black Star and it was hella-awesome... the only hiccup was Black Star's 100 gravity making my Newton unable to move a single glaive.
Do we have a modoption to override map gravity? Is it even possible? Are there recommended values for map gravity?

Gravity is considered by the engine devs and map makers as a superfluous atmospheric adjustment to a map. This would change if impulse was used extensively in a game but I doubt the map makers would realise. Map controlled gravity is basically why Newton is a silly unit, it is impossible to balance because gravity varies a lot.
