If they start on team 1 by default, you can put yourself on team 2, easier than switching every AI.

Or alternatively just !balance. It will push all of the bots into one team and all of the players in another.

I'm not being argumentative, here. I guess I'm just missing something. Aren't most of the chicken maps useless if you're on team 2?
Maybe there's a way to specify which (humans or AI) side of the map teams default to?

You are correct.
For exampple on http://zero-k.info/Maps/Detail/7231 there are two startboxes:
1 = left
2 = right
Team 2 has no metal = Fail.

imo having to fumble with teamIDs and typed !commands is bug. https://github.com/ZeroK-RTS/Zero-K-Infrastructure/issues/765
