As my Internet slowly decays in network speed (I was able to play Tanki Online but now I can't because of my stupid network) I began to wonder if there is any way to play Zero-k COMPLETELY offline.

Meaning you download some packages ONCE and you can play offline for EVER AND EVER AND EVER...

Is there such a thing? Or is that something I would have to make myself (When I have the time 2 weeks from now).

navigate to your spring folder, and try to look for an exe file related to spring. Upon launching it, you can select the map, whatever spring engine ai's are loaded onto there, and whatever mod for the spring engine you like

Open ZK-lobby -> SETTINGS -> Skirmisher -> Select engine 100.0, Zero-K 1.3.8.14 (or whichever is the latest) -> select map, set options, add AIs, move around boxes, etc as you like

For AIs you should probably use "game's AI"s, others might not work properly. Not sure how or if you can change box sizes, but you can move them around with your mouse.

(note that your background color will probably not be black, I changed mine manually in the SETTINGS)

CAI is game's AI. Other working AIs may be installed manually. RAI is the only default spring's AI that can build things in ZK, but its economy totally broken.

Is this hidden in "Settings" because it doesn't work well enough to be featured in "Singleplayer" tab?

Yeah from what I understand it's not really done yet. Not sure though. It probably should be moved to SP.

Well Zero-K/Spring-RTS(the engine) doesnt use much of a broadband (5 to max 30kilobytes/sec in awful big clusterfucks games) (excluding download what need to be done only once) and you can play with a 500-600ms ping just fine. May give it a try :D

How does it deal with unstable connections?
(I guess you can always pause the game and wait for the disconnected player to catch up...)

Then there are situations where you don't have a connection at all, or it's time metered and expensive...

Form my experiance spring will catchup(like rejoining) when connection is unstable/lagging (ak tcp session not closed) . If the connection is dropped (ak tcp session closed) longer than about 30sec to 1 minute Zero-K will mark the afk/dropped and give his units to the player with the highest elo in the team. when he get back(rejoin) his units are returned.

What if it's a 1vs1 or everyone on one team is afk/dropped?

In 1v1 the opponent will be presented with a dialog that has paragon and renegade options (pause game, or claim immediate win).
