You should be looking to use your raiders to cover your expansion too. Both by intercepting raids, and by pulling all his guys away with your own aggression.

Against JJ, defenders are your friend. They're good against both pyro (two volleys) and puppy (one shot). Pairing defenders in key positions will punish their raiding, allowing you more space to expand.
