Hi all !
Is there a way to use dual screen à la Supreme Commander in Zero-k ? If so how ? If not, is there another practical to use two screens ?

What does that look like?

My favorite quote from the article:
"You also need to bear in mind that double the screen real estate means double the rendering horsepower - you're going to need a reasonably high-end card, like a 7900 GT..."

Not if you are on windows 7.

I was using 2 monitors with same resolution on height 900pixel although different width, simply drag the window to far ends and enjoy.

Not owning a windows machine to test this method.

Spring used to have this option, LordMatt was a big fan of it, I have no idea if it is still present.

I think the feature in the supcomm article has been in spring for years. There will be some toggle in springsettings to achieve it.

I'm interested in this too, I did try just widescreen res on "extended screen" and Moveing the Map to the right side... it worked but it was a mess so I never set it back up.

Spring still has the Dual Screen Mode option available. When the game isn't running, edit springsettings.cfg and add DualScreenMode = 1 somewhere. This currently doesn't work as well as it used to, and it still comes with all the caveats it did previously.

The option became bitrotten over the years, so rendering with the option enabled is going to be off until Zero-K moves to at least Spring version 104.0.1-1554-gf775ea1470. The fix in question. Zero-K itself recently had its base widgets fixed to handle dual screen mode correctly, so there shouldn't be anything further to do on that side.

There are a lot of limitations that have always been present in Dual Screen Mode - for instance, it always assumes two monitors of equal size. So if you have two monitors of differing sizes, you'd probably want to either fix spring to handle general cases, with all the complexity that entails, or hack around it by (for example) having a "fake" monitor using xvfb that rescales and renders to the real monitor.

There were some advances recently so we'll probably be moving to a newer version soon.

Has there been any progress with this feature? I am very interested in trying to make this work. I have two identical monitors, and my video card is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.

I added DualScreenMode = 1 to the springsettings.cfg file, and it split the minimap and game map down the middle of just one monitor.

I heard that it worked for NZrankesainane.

Any updates on this? I tried dual screen settings from spring engine, but it just split screen on single monitor without moving to second.

Can you provide your springsettings.cfg?

First I tried this settings with and without resolution:
[Spoiler]
Found this one at (https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=32632), doesn't work for me, still splits single monitor.
[Spoiler]

With this configs on Zero-K loading or single panel option menu game stretch to size that should use two monitors, but only use one and get cropped to half. During game signle monitor screen is split in half with right half game and minimap on left half.

Try setting the dimensions you want in Configurable Borderless under Settings -> Graphics -> Ingame Display Mode. Your window settings are probably being overridden from here. The springsettings.cfg file is not the final source of truth since we don't quite trust the engine to maintain it. The dual screen setting should be fine since we don't expect it to be set.

Alternately, you could trust the engine and set Neuter Settings in the Developer tab. That makes the lobby not touch anything related to springsettings.cfg. To do that you need devmode.txt. https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/Zero-K:Developing#Modifying_the_game

Thanks for help GoogleFrog! Now split screen works as expected.
At first I had problem with minimap being on left without setting parameter in springsettings.cfg, but after some edits to config and lobby settings problem fixed itself.

If anyone interested I done this steps:
1.Enabled dev mode to set NeuterSettings (https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/Zero-K:Developing#Modifying_the_game)
2.Edited my springsettings.cfg:
