When did vindicator get AA lazor? it can effectively kite rapiers, which are, by the way, awful.
Also, comm not being put in hold fire when cloaked (that used to work)

Wait, in which sense are Rapiers awful?

Rapiers awful. Haven't heard that one before.

There is some evidence of a meta shift towards Banshee and Brawler. This is confusing because Rapier has been seen as quite powerful and no changes have occurred. I am trying to figure out whether the shift exists so I asked for clarification of ESrankElTorero's highly ambiguous statement.

People learned how to use them?

I barely use gunships so I shouldn't talk.
In this game I had 3-4 rapiers and I had expected them to be able to deal with a vindicator + lvl1 comm. The feeling is that they are awfully slow and clumsy to be able to deal with anything at all.
Their relatively low range requires them to get close to the enemy, but they are too slow and their HP isn't too high. Also, since they are so slow it takes a lot of time to attack and go back to repair. Remember that basically everything can attack a gunship.
They are good at kitting, for instance, raiders, but those can easily run away due to the speed difference.

My general feeling towards gunships is that they are so easy to deal with, since they are slow and can be attacked by everything. The exception is banshee. Which is awesome.

Just a subjective feeling so don't listen too much to me.

I feel like banshees returned to favour because people learned how to use them efficiently and they got proper rapid regen.
I have no idea why people make brawler nowdays. Perhaps its because people tend to make less chaninsaws?

Rapiers are a very powerful unit, but they're no longer used instead of banshees. What I mean is, people used to use rapiers over banshees as raiders, but it's not a true raider.

Banshee sees more play because people realise that the regen is a super big deal at the start of the game, and the speed allows you absolute map supremacy against raiders. They're better at taking advantage of poor positioning, and they're more resilient to ground-to-air.

I think it's a healthy change, even if they're frustratingly strong.

Brawlers? I don't know if they're seeing more play. Some people use the auto-retreat widget with them effectively, but I think that's always been the case? I guess if I've made banshees I'd be more likely to end up in brawler, whereas if I start rapier I may just want to keep pumping rapier? Banshees play is more specialised and will force you to escalate when they adapt.

Brawler have a good range and can easily gank enemy AA one by one (mostly razor and flak)

I think this may be the endgame of this map's meta.

Nice game, unfortunate ending.

The way disintegration is worded is super ambiguous. I think it should be expanded upon. It's just not clear that they are basically a one hit kill to anything. "Increased damage to large units" does not adequately capture the absoluteness of being hit by this.

Does it ever do flat 1400 damage? Would 'scales with unit size' be better, but even then, it's more a damage over time for so long as the projectile is within the units hitbox right? It does more damage against units moving away from it and less damage to units moving towards. It does more damage from high and low angles as the shot takes longer to leave the hitbox (so long as the unit is taller than it is wide). This should be clearer. As you can see from SS333 response, he immediately tries to class units as 'large' (a natural response) when the take home is that nothing is safe from this gun.

The only stuff I see survive a direct hit are striders, and if they're getting hit by dgun they're still not feeling good about it.

I think it does 1400 damage per frame of collision with the unit.
