The widget is called Cloak Fire State (under Units section). It was disabled by default due to reasons I can no longer recall precisely but can guess at ("why my units no shoot?!")

So what should be the default?
When cloaked, you want to avoid being seen. Deciding to fire just takes a right click. default hold fire seems pretty good. Accidentally giving away that you have a cloaked unit can be pretty big (com, scorp, ...)
Imo all units with personal cloak should be on hold fire mode.

Iirc the widget would reset the unit to fire at will upon decloak, so hold or return fire would be the same.

A toggable "sneaky" mode that keeps units on hold fire on cloak and a "ambush mode" that keeps it on fire at will?

Next stable there will be a toggle in the F10 menu to auto holdfire cloaked units but the question of default still remains.

Cloaked units with weapons:

Com
Scythe
Gremlin
Spectre
Scuttle
Infiltrator
Ultimatum
Scorpion

I think I prefer having scuttle, infiltrator and ultimatum to start out on hold fire. The rest no. And it's not a big deal for me to toggle what I want to not fire, as I'm going to handle all these units with special care anyways because they all need it (minus gremlin / scythe).

Also does scuttle even detonate without your command?

My units that are on hold-fire (default unit state) are now going on fire-at-will when leaving cloak. Or at least, this is what I'm told the reason is for my cata shots going to waste.

I don't ever want a cata to fire-at-will or return fire. They do too much damage to not manually fire. Instead of laying waste to shaman's tremor cluster, my cata wasted it on some workers or something. I never got another golden opportunity. What do?

Agree, ElTorero. Very bad that auto-switching to stop fire when unit is switched to cloaking was disabled many months ago, and i am surprised that it was not turned on back.

This is why I disabled the widget a while ago. It was then re-added as an option but the widget was not fixed. So, use at your own risk.
