TIL Newtons set to repulse will have the spikes facing outwards, while those set to attract will have them facing inwards.

Completely unrelated, but you inspired me:

Wouldn't it be smart(as in smart AI) if newtons could smartly toggle attract/repulse so that they kept a unit a certain distance away from the newton?

I like the idea of visual appearance, but small objects may be unnoticed. Maybe also add decal-thingy-arrow on the ground as RTS is usually top-down view.

WRT smartAI for the certain distance: isn't it going to interfere with placeholder's role?

Particle effects might convey this better than the model.

Yes, but nobody has made the gadget for it.

No, because placeholders use a black hole gun, not a gravity gun per se. Placeholders don't even have an off/on state.

Pretty sure I saw firepluk's sumo do that once or twice during his sumo spamming fad. Ended up in more of an over the shoulder fling, but hillarious speed resulted nontheless. Dunno if it was a gadget, lucky timing on a switch, or he was just super into his micro.

I believe Firepluk automated his sumos at some point. They still lost to two racketeers, though.
