Can we slow the elections down somehow?

Whenever I go on the forum there's like five or so elections happening.

This is unnecessary noise, but also detracts from the value of actually being voted in. At this point in time I wouldn't care if I was emperor, because I'd have to win 1-2 elections every day just to keep the title, and it would have been given with little thought.

I don't know what the emperor or any of the other positions actually do, but they don't seem meaningful. Is the emperor dead if he loses a battle? Do they even need to battle? Do they get a fancy commander with gold trestles? I'd like to see some emperor regicide. Perhaps instead of spamming votes, we could have merit based ascendancy whereby someone that fights a lot of planet-wars gets priority?

ATM it just seems like a perpetual popularity competition.

More importantly: why the hell should an emperor be elected?

If anything he should be a player that reaches the Emperors' Throne first (somtin somtin lore).

Normal way of things is to have emperor = person who had highest score in last planetwars.
But because those were loong time ago, we have to have elections.

It would be awesome to have some sort of pre-season where an emperor was established through civil war :)

"Loses a battle"?

Fool, even when empire fails, it still wins.

How can imperial commander not know one of most important imperial dogmats?

I'd prefer elections to have candidates and highest vote count wins. Instead of Yes/No votes allowing leaders to change faster than you can vote.

ok, what kind of monarchy is it we are talking about? because if you take some old models, only the nobility can elect emperors. And nobles are nobles by blood, they are not elected....
