On Nvidia in Chobby, on every change to the screen , the screen will for like 500ms flicker (very fast, probably every frame) between the state the screen was previously in and the state the screen is supposed to be. Then it stabilizes. This is annoying and possibly seziure inducing.

Also, any keyboard input somehow stops the flicker.
This bug is definitely exclusive to Nvidia and Linux .

deal breaking for notebook... drains battery too fast and makes fans spin for nothing

Hey AUrankAdminGoogleFrog I'm curious what's your programming background? In any case your dedication is fantastic.

I have a computer science major but I feel self taught regarding lua. I'm sure I actually learned a lot, but am unable to say what it is, because if you look at my code from a few years ago its pretty awful. I don't know the openGL required to confidently implement the good lobby flickering fix without a machine to reproduce it on.

I've got exactly the same problem on Amd rx 480 with Mesa drivers (the updated drivers from oibaf). The game runs great just the Chobby lobby flickering when doing stuff.
So problem is on the open source drivers too.

I've got the same problem too, my graphic card is Nvidia.

I "workaround" it by using OS custom shortcut key to toggle the Chobby display size, make it max windows size but DON'T get into fullscreen.

In Gnome you can custom "toggle fullscreen" shortcut keys first and use this shortcut key to do this, in other Desktop Environment I don't know but might have similar function to do this.

After this, my lobby not flickering again.
