Is there any argument against giving commanders access to a dedicated AA weapon (besides the development man-hours to implement it)?

It is ultraspecial and makes you that more vulnerable to raiders that it becomes a noobtrap.

But, then, torpedos. So i guess not.

(except that you can shoot both planes and bots with rockets, but you can't hit subs with anything except torps)

I imagine it would be implemented as a purple weapon mod for the missile launcher (into a SAM) or the laser (into a blue AA laser) so it that can't be a starting weapon.

Just think it would be super useful for air players, who otherwise have early game problems re: enemy planes attacking their planes while they build/killing their cons.

atm coms are uber vulnerable to planes since you cannae dodge shadows :(

You can dodge shadows. Dance as they are about to pass you. Usually you can't avoid all damage but if you take 300 damage instead of 1200 it can be the difference between death and life.

coms are not meant to be the answer to everything.

Make AA and stop being so silly relying too much on a com.

Works only with faster coms through i havent seen it working with a slow one.

I'm sure it'll be implemented if you see to it, 1v0ry. Just do some coding, ask any of the icon-maker-people for a module icon and commit it/make a patch for someone to commit.

I've dodged Shadows with Support com Rick. It's the slowest one, right?
I don't know if the collision volume have different sizes so it might be harder to dodge with Battle com if it have a bigger collisionvolume.

Pretty sure this already exists in several forms in the ZK source. I asked for one earlier, mods hinted it was on the way

I can dodge Shadows pretty frequently if I'm paying attention, even with Support commanders.

Missile towers are a good start because they kill multi-role fighters in 1 burst.

Re: dodging shadows

Last I knew that was supposed to be explicitly impossible. o_0 It used to be really easy but then shadows were supposed to be given enough slight weapon homing to make dodging impossible because as GF described it, he "didn't want it to be a quicktime event".

Also has anyone tried toggling the "dive bomb" attack to see if that makes it harder for coms to dodge?
