Slow Updates Everytime I Open Lobby

Hi all;

Every time I want to open Chobby I always have to sit through about 3 minutes of zero-k supposedly updating at about 15kb/s. I'm not sure if this is normal (map downloads have always worked much faster than that) or maybe just something to do with the server. I'm mainly just wondering if theres anyway to not wait 3-5 mins every time I open the game.
