It's ugly as hell, I've drawn something in inkscape to replace it. It's not the prettiest but it's an improvement nonetheless.

Looks decent at this resolution but remember it would get shrunk to 16x16.

You could replace the drone recall button icon as well. I hacked it together in a few minutes so it's not particularly good quality.

With the same arrow or new one? (this was also hacked together in few minutes)

Here is my attempt at drone recall:

For comparison, there are current:

restart/undo:

and drone recall:

I like the drone recall icon. It better fills the square space that the button provides, and it is easier to infer its meaning.

Some minor criticism: i think when zoomed out, the place where the red arrowhead clips into the gray drone icon will be badly visible. I suggest completely isolating the tip of the arrow from the drone.

Additionally, the arrow changes width. You can use various trace-path tools in Inkscape to make the arrow have consistent width. This also applies to the restart icon.

Here, I moved the arrow, so that arrowhead is more visible. I don't know how to easily fix the arrow's width. If you know some neat tricks I'd be happy to learn. I've also improved the contrast of drone's metalic surface.

1) Bezier tool -> Create path that you want the arrow to travel
2) Select resulting path -> Go to Fill and Stroke parameters -> give your line desired width and start/end caps
3) Path -> Stroke to Path. Now you have the outline of what your path created as a path in itself!
4) Edit this outline as desired, e.g. to adjust the arrowhead shape and Union arrowhead to the line.
5) Apply gradients and other styles like on any other object.

That's what I did, but I didn't like the shape so I tweaked it at the end.

I think the new icons don't work. They look like massive things that were shrunk instead of icons that were made to size. The restart icon is ok but basically looks like a weird circle. The recall drones icon does not match the other commands.

what about many arrows pointing inwards to a single point

I think it's the matter of contours and gradients, I can fix that.

I ditched the arrow and made one appear from light.

For restart arrow I think it's ok, but I increased contrast and arrow visibility.

I think the edges of the circle are too thin. All the other icons mostly have much thicker lines.

By circle do you mean restart arrow?

I mean that the major element of the drone recall icons, the four pointed rings, are significantly thinner than the major element of the rest of the command buttons.

I accidently didn't save the inkscape file, so it's either this or no. I've spent already too much time over button that's nobody going to use anyway.

Made some cheap quick verisons without playing with gradients. I see they probably need some shrinking and padding with transparent background, when you finally choose one (or none). I refuse to continue this subject.
