Leveler currently is not bad, but imho just lacks some "oomph". What I mean exactly is some riot stopping power. I wish that some of its power (as was in BA) of creating such a powerful explosion to make slow units loose their speed and stop briefly was brought back. There was simply an additional effect of an expulsion with an explosion which pushed nearby units a little. They were very fearsome in large numbers because of that effect.

Currently Scorcher vs Leveler 1v1 makes Leveler often loose, which is a bit counter intuitive. However 3 Levelers vs 4 Scorchers will always win (probably with some losses, depending on attack angle).


Also I never saw anyone using leveler to actually level ground.

How would you change it?
  • veh is only really viable on flat maps so there's usually nothing to level. You'd have to redesign the whole fac.
  • there are units that screw the map up as a side effect (eg dirtbag) but since you're playing veh, the map is flat so your opponent is also playing a veh-pathing fac and has no incentive to do that.
  • people no longer use 6 height terraform to stop veh because leveler is good enough to reliably counter it. You'd have to nerf leveling for people to start using TF again.

I wouldn't mind minor impulse kick on Ripper. It can't be worse than Archer.

I really like the idea of impulse on attack. Fits with the high-mobility factory overall and synergizes with the skirmisher.

I think it's ok for rover riot to be kind of bad since the fac in general does well at taking map control on suitable maps and does great in raider matchups.

Speaking of Archer, as a side-note, it does not really push as it sticks the target in place... meaning that if the target tries to get away, it is still stuck and blocked by archer's jet.

IMO leveler is fine. LV does not struggle with dealing with raids.

Doesn't it impulse? Perhaps engine changed the physics.

Sumo needed to be buffed to compensate for a sort of higher static friction after the engine change.

Would not be shocked that it affected this unit too, in a way people just didn't care much about.
