I'm no dev so take it with a grain of salt.

We've had Chinese players complain about such issuses before, and we suspect the reason is simply China's internet policy and the Great Firewall. The problem is not what we locally can really help with. Maybe changing some protocols or ports could help but there's no telling whether it would work or even if it did - how long would it work.

Skirmish is local and you can play the game with friends using peer to peer without lobby (which can get a little bit technical). Developpers will probably deliver a more comprehensive answer.

If you see 10s countdown and game won't connect it means that there is a connection problem.

Thing you could try:

Start a coop session (go to skirmish or campaign and click invite friend to invite some steam friend to play with you)

Coop is hosted P2P meaining data won't go to our server and so it should work.

If coop does not work either, It is likely that whatever blocks network is close to you (route, ISP) - make sure you have UDP protocol allowed.

If coop does work, it means that access to our server is blocked for some reason.
