Mace rushed by a level 9...

This is the epitome of high risk high reward.
If USrankStuart98 responded with Skirmishers, then thunderwear would have lost the game after the Mace was killed. Mostly because a) he had just spent 400 metal on a unit which is now dead, and USrankStuart98 now has extra units and is still standing.

I wasn't saying anything about its legitimacy, I just found it interesting that such a classic cheese was being perpetrated by a new player.

I did this exact cheese to USrankFealthas in my first or second week of playing (on CCR btw). I've learned it either from the clusterpot or from watching the 1v1 tourney where USrankFealthas took 1st place by spamming maces.

Anyway, cheesing is easy and rewarding for new players.

Cheese is art. Admire it. Learn its different forms. Reach ladder through cheesing.

Watched the replay. Stuart scouts the mace in fac at 0:44 and sees the slow radar dot at 1:53. Morphs com to riot cannon and produces darts+cons.

Proper response was to plant just 1 more LLT and move comm to defend while making a scalpel.

This wasn't even an all-in, it was literally just a riot unit attack-moving to the base. Thunder's comm wasn't even involved. Even the map is not great for rushes.

Just another case where using information and reacting appropriately wins or loses games.

This was actually a case of not noticing that I had information; I don't recall seeing the mace until I actually saw it moving (and then tried in vain to rush out a scalpel).

You just started playing again few days ago after basically 10 months break. And no 1v1 in two years. (except for two matches or so)
He registered 8 days ago but you are not really an active player, 1v1 or otherwise, why would you expect to win?
Only 257 matches in 4 years. You lack experience as badly as he does.
