Hello Commanders,

the ARM needs you to fight due to the old conflict of CORE and ARM.
This is a fight to the death. For each side, the only acceptable outcome is the complete elimination of the other.

so I have chosen the federation for the first time.
clan members can discuss a changeover to an other faction (but not Empire as long as CORE is there).
is that what you meant?

"Dynasty of Man" could be an option to fight CORE ... and others ;)
