After the "Funnelweb needs buff" thread, I knew this one as coming soon anyways since I heard that Merlin was a noob trap. Consider making Merlin a giant Rogue with a Thug shield and a Firewalker Area of Effect.

I always felt Merlin is a bit overpriced for what it does.

It should be about 500 metal cheaper.

Also I want it to have little lasers on the sides because it keeps dying to skirmishers because I couldn't be bothered to protect it properly.

Also, what would be cool would be a cloak function so that it can sneak around and blow stuff up as a surprise. LOL it will be funny to blow up a comm that never saw it coming. To make and mutate Iris takes too long.

That's in addition to the shields earlier suggested by Oflameo.

It is silly that Merlin has those huge legs and cannot crush small units with them or do kickboxing moves against other striders.

Also. Another unit that massively needs a buff, as reported in he other thread, is Limpet. So why not make them synergise⸮ Merlin could football-kick Limpets into enemy ranks, slowing them down so that Merlin can hit them with more accuracy.

I guess Merlin could use a buff in form of having a single fire mode, maybe like Dante's salvo, but that it does less damage per second compared to its salvo attack.

Merlin currently has 293DPS(says 280DPS ingame for some reason) with 8800 Alpha burst damage and 30s reload.
With a single fire mode it could fire 1 of its 220 damage-40 shot missiles every 1-2 seconds, for 165 or 82.5 DPS, less than it's actually full salvo but allows it a constant stream of damage at longer range.
Using the salvo this way would put it on a reload timer like Dante.

Merlin is the biggest piece of trash unit in the game. Utterly useless vs anyone with a semblance of a brain(explains why it works in teamgames).

I've lost games due to how terrible this unit is.

I remember one scenario in which I needed to kill a behe. Made a merlin that did nothing vs stacked shields.
Ended up just making a silo, which actually worked.

It's very over priced.

Some people are really bad at spotting literal sarcasm signs. We need to buff sarcasm signs, give them kickboxing and footballing skills as well as a leveler sidearm.

EErankAdminAnarchid, punctuate your sarcasm with "⸮" so people know you are being sarcastic. I mean the game has a lobster in it that lobs things unironically. A strider with field goal kicking action doesn't look out of place next to it.

Catapult does kinda feel a bit weak against shields. I wished the rocket projectiles had a bit more damage to them and the firerate was a tad higher (not the reload, but the actual rate in which the salvo is fired)

I think cata is pretty good. Because of its large range. And it can even attack units in close.
