No offense, but for someone who may not have ever had experience with making maps via Photoshop or similar programs, i believe a video detailing the process would be much more convenient for this guy. EErankAdminAnarchid

A video would indeed be better but the wikipage has the important advantage of actually existing.

Now that i check, there is indeed no video, maybe someone should do something about that?

Probably should deal with this, the finalization process pages are kinda missing.

https://springrts.com/wiki/Mapdev:Tutorial_Simple#Finalizing
https://springrts.com/wiki/Mapdev:Tutorial_Intermediate

Might wanna add the counterpart of these to the zero-k wiki, the current one is incomplete and doesn't detail the finalization process or the intermediate steps.

Also just curious, while i'm not very well versed in the spring engine, why isn't there a program for making maps on the spring engine?
Other RTS's do it either in game or a separate program.

Just curious, why isn't this on the wiki?(I know the wiki was just copied and pasted from the actual spring wiki but still)

springboard current version may require extensive knowledge to make work

Spring map edit or manual map compiling using mapconv would be less painful at the moment

Speaking from experience, its only difficult to set up right now due to an issue with the installer, you can manually set it up though.

Its not at all hard to use honestly.

Speaking from experience, even pr downloader is not working as intended
and height map import-export is broken,

this is true as of 3 months ago, I am unaware of any development since.

Nope, the maps are given to us as they are by the gods themselves and are not to be touched in any way, not even for reinforcing them. Map are not creating, not dissolving, but they transform to different status: featured, not featured, supported, unsupported. Whyle the exact reason of this transiction in unknow, is it normally accepted that it derives from the like - spin number that they get on the forums.
