The mines that are placed under the crab prohibit changing the terrain, so that the crab can get to attack the badgers. The crab is obliged to retreat, but this will require incredible damage and the outcome is unknown, that is, it either dies or does not die, but it is necessary to retreat, otherwise it dies. It turns out that the crab takes an incredible amount of damage and needs to be repaired.

I suppose mines and drones and starlight satellites shouldn't block terraform.

A detached Starlight satellite costs 45k to obtain, so should block terra imo. Attached but not launched, it shouldn't.

Why make an arbitrary rule for mines, drones and satellites? Air units and structures probably shouldn't apply a proximity block for terraform. I don't expect to implement such a thing though.

Well one would expect mines to be less unit-y than missiles (One just need to know where the enemy is, while the other need to know where the enemy is and is that enemy it's target), so it would make sense that mines wouldn't block terraform if missiles don't. but you can also make the argument that Badger mines are special and sentient and know that you are still a lobster. But I still feel like that the fact that mines block terraform is more arbitrary, at least to beginners.

Mines are clearly a unit while in-flight missiles are clearly not. You can select mines and give them orders. Mines can be targeted.

Those are all automatically generated helper units that cost nothing. Terraform is a unit too.

Terraform is far less of a unit than Claw. There is no way for an opponent to interact with the terraform unit, and it doesn't even display a model.

I feel like we're veering off topic. My last post was about classifying mines as units, not about what should block terraform. I already said what sort of terraform blocking sounds reasonable.

Mines are structures. Drones are air units.

However, the question is moot because I don't think it is worth paying for the more expensive code such a filtering system would require.
