Itch.io version of the game is apparently a virus according to Microsoft Defender.

It is easy to run the game if I just allow the threat to exist on my laptop, but you know, it would be better if it wasnt classified as a virus. Could it be caused by some new update? It used to run without any problem.

It is because the program updates itself and it gets flagged because that is something trojans also like to do. I also like to note that Linux distributions hate when programs try to update themselves for the same reason.

Auto update was removed from the launcher. I don't know what the plan is for when the launcher needs an update (thankfully these are rare).
