Should be fixed with the update ~2 hours ago. If you're on steam, verify files.

Can you upload your Zero-K.exe to virustotal and send me the link? The new exe that is being distributed should not show up on any antivirus according to virustotal: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/461e15113d0ad048a592dccc9260a13dd81d25408049606e13589fef6091c5ae/detection

Even after Windows Security claiming to have removed the infection, it is still showing up on virustotal:

That's weird. So you are getting a different version of Zero-K.exe than I am.

If you delete Zero-K.exe and then verify game files, do you still get this?

It's in the settings menu when you right click on Zero-K in your steam library.

Thanks. I uninstalled Zero-K for now, will wait a short while before reinstalling to be safe and will verify files then.

I had the same problem. Validating game files is not replacing exe it seems (or another file at issue)? But once I uninstalled and reinstalled I had no trouble.

Update:

Reinstalled Zero-K. Windows Security Defender is not showing any alerts. Files successfully validated on Steam.

However, virustotal is still showing a malware warning on the Zero-K.exe file:
